Trailers are supposed to get people hyped. Anything after CBale will be a let down. Not necessarily because he's not in it but because the creators have lost the will to advance the franchise and trying to make a cheap buck with CGI and taking SJW angles.

quote:I wasn't melting, and yes, I know Sarah has long been the hero of the franchise. But John was the ultimate leader of the resistance (hence the reason Sarah was targeted in the original and why John was targeted in T2). John was targeted in this one as well, and they finally got him, so in his place the resistance is lead by a female.
The super cringe part of your comment though - this is Terminator we are talking about, a female has been the "hero" for a super long time... Sarah Connor
I get that this opens up a "new" storyline, but at the same time it is doing what TFA did for Star Wars in that it is recycling the old plot (we have to protect this woman and her child to have a chance to save the future). So is it really opening up new storylines, or is it doing what the new Ghostbusters did in retelling the same story and same plot, but with females in the roles that had been male roles?

I haven't seen it, but I did read the synopsis on Wikipedia.
Spoilers below:
If they stopped SkyNet and Judgement Day, why the frick would someone send a Terminator back in time to kill John if the new chick is the leader of the resistance?

The film's criticism is justified, but this is a ridiculous reason.

Not only do they kill the theme of a male (John Conner) being the savior, but they also kill the theme of Jesus Christ being the savior of mankind.
Whether you are a Christian or not, you should understand the perilous path we walk down when we lose that narrative.

It's just a complete coincidence that the savior of mankind in Terminator story has the same initials as the savior of mankind in the Christian narrative, right?
Sometimes I wonder if you religionist ppl are trolling us.

Yes

"Terminator" couldn't have been good because it's basically a repackaging of the Mary and Jesus narrative...right?
Or maybe it's because of the cutting edge action and effects that hold up today, combined with a competent plot and quality interaction of characters?
Nah, you're probably right, it's because of a Jesus & Mary parallel.

I mean, it's why I like John Wick so much, John's first name is the name letter as Jesus and he's a total badass just like dah Christ himself. Jesus also was the master of the double tap
