Not in the same league as those shows. Starts off really good then just gets way to ridiculous

However, after watching Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad 3 times, I now think Breaking Bad is better than Sons of Anarchy.

It took you 3 watches to realize that???

It's just not the same kind of show. SoA is a fun turn your brain off show.

You need to watch the Shield.

I watched about half of season one of The Shield and gave up on it. Too much of a "generic case of the week" cop show. I loved the aspects that dealt with Chiklis' character and the continuity of that storyline, but they ruined it with the case of the week stuff.
I watched the first few seasons of Justified too. And I really like Timmy Olyphant. But it got boring after a while.
Sons is certainly over the top, but it was never meant to be a reality show. I've never had a problem suspending disbelief when it comes to movies or tv. SoA had some great storylines and some really good unexpected turns. It did run a season or two too long, but I still enjoyed every season.

I started a marathon after several co workers kept telling me how great it is.

I'm addicted, up to season 3 episode 5 in a week.

Best I've seen since Breaking Bad

If you believe there can be numerous massacres in a small California town without it becoming a national news story then this is the series you've been waiting for.

Really Hoss ? It's a TV show

Not trying to ruin anything, but a bunch of people were hooked at that point in the show and many, including myself, never even ended up finishing it

I watched the first 4-5 seasons in like 2 weeks

It gets very silly and becomes unwatchable. Multiple mass killings and shootouts on the highways that appear to go unreported.

But there are some redeemable aspects of the show. Everyone seems to love their brudda.

It doesn't belong in the same stratosphere with those shows, much less te same sentence.

It truly is a show for morons. A total cockamamy shitfest.

Turn off your sense of any reality and its a popcorn tv show...

Worth a watch if you've got nothing better to do. The only reason I continued after season 4 was because I wanted to see how much more outlandish it could get. IMO, season 2 was pretty solid with Henry Rollins.

No where near Breaking Bad... I haven't seen The Wire, but if its as good as people say, SOA def isn't close.

Beginning in season 2, there's a major story arc in The Shield which affects the series all the way to the finale.

the shield is the furthest thing from that. Did you even watch the first episode?

Yes. If it was an HBO series solely based on Chiklis and his crew, it would be phenomenal. But instead it's 20-30 minutes of that stuffed into an hour long "the butler in the kitchen with a candlestick" show.

Legit for first two seasons then started getting ridiculous, especially in season 4. However, I was hooked on it from start to finish. It's the only show where I was able to overlook the WTF moments and still enjoy it for what it was.
