The humanization of Ted and farm animals bit along with Nate’s street urchin comments were hilarious. Good to see the pendulum is starting to shift back to the other side for Nate.

Loved Sam's dad and how he had Sam react to the restaurant event. Hated the Sam as Lebron political messaging itself.

Started S3 last night. I enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 but I guess not enough to watch it when it first aired. Episode one pretty much sums up why I guess I'm burnt out on the show.
Is Ted at any point going to care to learn the sport he coaches? I mean I get it, your best quality is a motivator, you take the guys down to the sewage system and give a good motivational speech, but maybe spend some time actually learning about the game you're coaching. I mean who does that? You are a head coach of a team in the biggest sports league in the world and you can't even halfway study some tape or learn formations but instead just ask your assistance and players everything. It got on my nerves pretty good by season to and now I just dislike him as a coach. Like the second scene of the season Roy is like "ok coach I think we need to run a 4 -4 -2 set." Ted interupts him "yea yea you know best we'll go with that."
Episode one drama is where they are projected to finish by the media and the owner is pissed about it. Who cares? Seriously. How about realize that you just got a 110+ million dollar bump in pay by the Premiere league. "Maybe we should make some moves." Ted: "Eh, I kind of like the guys we got."
I still can't understand how you could make one of the most likeable characters on the show the villain. It made absolutely no sense. There would be no reason for him to feel that entitled and that he earned a spot as a coach in the Premiere League. You created a dumb story line and ruined a great character.
That episode single handedly made me not want to watch the show anymore. Ok I think I'm done complaining

It was dumb and not needed at all for the show that should be apolitical.
The whole twitter exchange was just a big eye roll.

Roy Kent was a gem in this one. Yelling "whistle" instead of using one, wanting to run the drill again with 5 guys tied to the same person, and dropping Sharp Dressed Men and as*quatch, then hating Ted for what he's done to him.

Some parts of this snow are still really good but I’ve started skipping through any scenes with Rebecca and Keeley. I just can’t make myself care.
I thought it might make me confused about the main story but then I realized that none of their scenes this season actually tie into the main story at all. At this point it’s like they have their own mini-series.

Great episode would have been better without the Sam/PM side story.
Jade was smoke there at the end.

The contrast between let’s do a training session where we tie our dicks together to a violent racism plot was truly awful writing. It’s almost like a troll putting a topic like the refugee crisis into such an unserious show.
The show is still okay, but most of the female characters act like children now which is a shame.
Any storyline outside of the locker room/team is shite to be honest.

The whole tag of the show in season 1 and if look at another thread on here was it was a refreshing happy show in a time where the country was not in a good place.
So what have they done?
Inserted lgbt issues and immigrantion/race issues.
Knowingly hitting divisive political topics.

I agree that the twitter exchange was an eye roll. However, we wouldn’t have had the patented Ted Lesso “who cut the onions” moment at the end without it. It was a necessary setup for the ending.
Now, the Keely/Jack deal. Totally over that. Unnecessary insertion. Thought they would put more development into Roy/Keely getting back together based on the first 2 episodes with the niece and Diamond Dogs, but that has completely gone to the wayside. I do still think it’s going to happen when this Jack thing plays out, but they haven’t even hinted toward it lately, which I find weird.

I think Roy has to get his shite together and believe he is good for her. I also think the Keeley business relationship has to blow up in her face to help her grow up.

Apple most likely made them go in this direction. Kinda unusual for a show to steer away from what it was originally doing (and was successful) unless people from upstairs chimed in.
The parts when it’s dealing with the team are still great but at this point it’s hardly part of the show anymore.

Lol. These shows are so gay now.
The lefts concept of the right is so cartoony and stupid.
Really shows how poorly fleshed out these morons worldviews are.
Like there are people who ACTUALLY thought that shite was poignant haha

No, it was a pretty ham-handed attempt. However, not many on either far sides truly understand nuances.

I think this is what baffles me the most... people actually find this entertaining?
What part of the storyline or any comedic effect does a PM rejecting refugees and a back and forth on Twitter with a “Shut up and dribble” fit into a Soccer comedy narrative. We already got his storyline and political stance in Season 2 when he covered up the club sponsor.
One of the rules of script writing is to not show texts and screen stuff anyway, so this is going out of the way to make political overtones.
At this point the show is AT MOST 50% comedy and 50% politically left agenda propaganda... And that’s being generous, it honestly may be 25% / 75%.
The political storylines appear to be just as important currently as the actual soccer comedy this started as, and as I’ve said above - the soccer seems even less important if we’re being honest.
I think if you asked me today, we’re MUCH more likely to see a political stance Finale than something actually pertaining to the story line.
So if we’re taking bets on the finale, put me down for -
Ted’s son comes out as Trans (he already seems pretty feminine this season) but rural arse Republicans in Kansas won’t let him play Soccer on the girls team. So Lasso and Richmond fly out to Kansas to support and Ted decides to stay and coach his now “daughter’s” team.
I think it’s sad that this outcome is as likely as anything soccer related at this point that this finale seems feasible in this new direction the show has taken.
