I think we’re about to take a deep dive on the
“It ain’t always easy growing up without someone believing in you” and his dad passing away at 16. I think we’re gonna see behind Ted’s mask and it might get a tad bit dark.

Sam didn’t even register on my mind for a possibility. 
Glad it wasn’t Ted though. Those two work as great platonic confidantes. Sassy’s personality is much better for Ted.

The Christmas episode, which I understand from this board was a late addition, made Ted’s emotional breakdown fearing he’ll be an absentee father that much more poignant.
Without that episode, I think his break would’ve felt sort of abrupt.
