Until Quentyn has the thing cast, don't count on really anything he says. He's probably thrown out like 30 movie ideas that he's "to going do".

He’s not gonna be the director for that one

Would watch

Cruise in a non-action role seems pretty fresh considering his last decade. I feel like I haven’t seen him really act in a long time.

can't believe he's never won an Oscar for directing. It's a fricking crime that Robert Zemekis won it for Forrest Gump over Pulp Fiction.
I think Pulp Fiction is the most real and natural feeling movie I have ever seen. Every scene just seems like it is really playing out in front of you. It is virtually shot, scripted and acted perfectly.
I think it should have won.
That said, Forest Gump is fantastic too. Tarantino didn’t and doesn’t now hesitate to release his movies competing against big dogs. He is a very confident writer/director. I hope he wins an Oscar for best Director one day because he is almost inarguably one of the best ever.
But does he really need to for us to know who he is? I don’t think so.

Tarantino’s screen play for pulp fiction is arguably the greatest original screen play in cinema history
Wasn't just that either. No one had ever really used real music instead of an orchestra for a film score. The non linear part of it was unheard of at the time for a major film.
He completely created something original. It wasn't just Pulp Fiction that lost the Oscar to Forrest Gump that year. Shawshank Redemption got beat out also
other movies in 94 (probably my favorite of all time year for movies.)
Lion King
Hudsucker Proxy
Natural Born killers
Interview with a vampire
True lies
Ace ventura
The Crow
The Professional
Clerks
Stargate
Airheads
That's a good idea I need to have a movies from 1994 marathon.

This is Tarantino's Oscar bait movie. He's made Oscar worthy films in the past but they were all too off kilter to win the big prize he seeks (Best Director). So now he's going for broke with this film. If he hits a home run he may bring home Oscar gold.
He already has two Oscars for Best Screenplay. Does he really care that much about getting an Oscar for Best Director or Best Picture?

he probly doesn't lose sleep over it, but what Director doesn't want those 2 wins?

He is an extremely talented guy

Not as big as say "Dances with Wolves" beating "Goodfellas" at the Oscars, but slightly under that.
Goodfellas deserved to be in the running too but the revisionism that its one of the best movies of all time is absurd.

I’m going to need a list of foods that Brad Pitt’s character would be eating in 1969.

Isn't he only going to make like two more movies??

i'm not not sure I care to see tarantino's funny, over the top displays of violence applied to the real murder of a pregnant woman
I doubt we see much of the Tate murder. The story focuses on DiCaprio and Pitt's characters and Tate is just the backdrop.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I think Tarantino's days are behind him. Loved everything up to Basterds. Django was enjoyable but in the bottom half of his work. Hateful 8 was terrible.
I went from wanting him to never stop making films to having no excitement for this film, even with the cast.
Downvote away.

Obviously I don't keep up with this anymore. I thought Tarantino was done making movies.

Not post-Harvey Weinstein. Sorry Quentin.

Off topic but I watched Jackie Brown the other day for the first time in years. It has aged incredibly well.
