The Oscar voting demographics changed drastically two years ago. It’s likely to be this way for the foreseeable future. It ain’t what it used to be.

truly hysterical to think that a comic book movie won best costumes and best production design over a masterful period piece like The Favorite. truly hilarious

The Academy couldn’t handle another #OscarsSoWhite backlash

Best original score wasn’t really any better.

I agree Close should have won. Didn't even think Olivia Colman was good at all in The Favourite. They absolutely got that one wrong.
And like someone said earlier that's now 7 damn Oscars that she has missed out on. Poor woman. Does she keep going or just call it quits now?

The Oscars are just not important for me anymore. they dont mean much. i think most of the people nominated did great in whatever theyre being nominated for, but to say that all of these nominations represent the best of the year? its just not true anymore. its pretty meaningless.

But the movie represented black people, so it’s still a win

The favourite and panther were both highly overrated this year just a weak year in general next year will be spectacular though
