They will not get my viewership. Even without a host they will turn this into a MSNBC Anti-Trump show. I enjoy movies too much to get pulled into that bullshite where I stop watching movies. Also, the Best Picture nominees are cringeworthy. I have seen most and forgotten them all.

I've heard multiple interviews with movie critics and "media insiders" who recap the last tumultuous months but then say "But there are box office winners nominated, so it should still get good ratings."

Listen, it’s not going to win. But people complain every year they many obscure, non big box office movies make the best pic category. This year that is not the case, and black panther fits the bill of big box office like the rest of the category. It made a zillion dollars. Relax

I’m sorry, but even the biggest dunderheads know that Black Panther is only nominated because it had a black cast. Most mainstream movie watchers think Infinity War is a superior film. That or Into the Spiderverse should be the ones nominated for Best Picture if we had to go with a comic book film. If Endgame is just as good as Infinity War, and it’s against a similarly pathetic batch, just give it Best Picture for the amount of effort put into the MCU as a whole.

The lack of BP in the show marketing is evidence that the network knows this year will be another ratings loser IMO. Only promos I've seen are playing up Gaga and Cooper playing tonight, which means they're trying to entice their core audience of middle aged and older white women.
