He does have a background in Heroin which could explain the strange array of people he knows.

I think in terms of food he's pretentious. If you watch any of his shows you can get that vibe.

Well he is a pretty well known chef and author. He has run multiple high end kitchens, so I'd expect that to some extent.
He is my #2 TV personality of the last 10 years at minimum behind Craig Ferguson.

Sure same here. I don't mind it because it is what it is. I want him to be.

I don't really get that. Here he is enjoying the shite out of waffle house

And in terms of his capability, he's a beast.

That must've been when that a-hole told the world about Verti Marte.

Yeah, he kept carrying on about it as if it was God's gift to the New Orleans culinary scene. That was when I sort of started to see him as tired. That, and his sort of creepy fan-boy following asking audience questions.

EVERYONE enjoys the shite out of waffle house.

He's also hammered

But if you watch enough you'll hear him talk shite about certain types of food more than others. Like deep dish pizza for example.

You're right. I used to think Cowherd was bad but LeBatard has taken it to another level. I don't understand why he doesn't just waddle his fat arse over to NPR where he belongs.

In this thread:

I agree with every negative remark about Bourdain.

I agree with every positive remark about SVP.

Bourdain wrote a really interesting manifest on Typhoid Mary. If you google I'm sure it's around and worth the read.

He's pretty talented in writing regards. His mother was I think an editor for the New York Times.

He's from NYC. To him, deep dish pizza is like tomatoes in gumbo. Or something.

SVP is by far my favorite sports personality, love his delivery. Watching Bourdain pretty much got me interested in cooking. Plus, he's pretty much got the best job in the world.

It's damn good, legit homemade food. I miss those potatoes au gratin. But that place blew up. It wasn't as bad when I went back in town during Mardi gras to visit.

I still think it's the best cheap food option in the French quarter. Probably the best meal there for under $20 a plate.

Ran into Anthony in Bangkok 3 years ago, he was by himself and politely asked for no pics.

We just BS'd for about 30 min and we went on our ways. He's awesome.

What you see on TV is 10,000% him. Nothing novel about who he is or what he thinks....
