Review I juat read online:

quote:

I just walked out of James Gunn’s Superman and I don’t even know who I am anymore. The CGI action sequences are so flawless, so mathematically divine, that I swear at one point the atoms in my popcorn stopped vibrating just to watch.

There’s a scene where Superman punches a black hole *into another black hole*, and the audience audibly gasped as the laws of physics packed up their bags and left the theater. People were sobbing. People were *floating*.

At one point, the CGI was so perfect that I started doubting reality itself. A bird flew past the screen and I reached out to grab it. I couldn’t tell if I was alive, dead, or inside Unreal Engine 6.

The dust particles… had *dust particles*.
The heat vision melted not just steel beams but also my childhood trauma.
When Superman flew through Saturn’s rings, NASA issued an official statement apologizing for getting it wrong all these years.

There was a 12-minute fight sequence that was so beautiful, the man next to me proposed to his girlfriend mid-punch. She said yes and the entire crowd erupted into applause — but no one could tell if it was real or just part of the movie anymore.

James Gunn has created something that isn’t just a movie. It’s a religious experience. The CGI is so good it accidentally cured my astigmatism. I walked in human, I walked out Kryptonian.

If you think you’ve seen good action before… you haven’t. This isn’t just cinema.
It’s cinema, quantum-entangled with God’s own Photoshop.

Thank you, James Gunn.
We were not ready.

Point to here I was 'triggered'. I look forward to the day when that garbage Millennial word is finally yeeted from common usage. Weak, very weak.

What I'm doing is explaining and putting into context how James Gunn projects himself into this movie because clearly, he hasn't broken the Superman code. Because it's clear, he hasn't.

Ask Marvel why THEY were so 'triggered' over his 'jokes' but are perfectly fine with check-box Pedro to say and spew anything he wants with out the slightest level of rebuke or action taken.

You're just pissed because I'm right. And you know it.

Some folks on here HAVE to be angry about something all the time and it shows.

Just enjoy the damned movie or don’t, but manufacturing faux outrage and demanding everyone else be as upset as you is just sad.

I’m all for free speech. So they can have it lol. But what they don’t realize is that at some point they start to look like the crazy homeless guy at the corner of the block screaming with the sign.

That’ll be enough to move plans forward. But they need to hit a billion when Batman comes in.

It’s not manufactured. Fans actually care about the stories, the characters they know..

It’s been explained the why over & over again why, I’ve grown tired of trying to anyone.

Don’t know why it’s so hard for you to understand but fans in fact, do NOT want their mythos ruined in a minute baby.

And especially from a guy who admits that crackling the Superman code is very hard for him and he does something like this right out of the box for his first movie.

They need a solid 700 million to even think about calling this a W.

And that would be a very weak one to start the entire new DCU. Odd that it’s “the next movie “ that needs to really really do good.

Yeah, it's off to a good start. I was meh on the film but I can't deny that it's doing great, domestically. I might take my parents today so I've been looking at showtimes, and it's almost sold out everywhere

Are they though? It's summer. We've grown accustomed to summer movies.

One super duper discount Tuesday isn't exactly "fantastic".

I'm not seeing it now. Was going to, but now I'm not.

Bully for them. Movie studios need to make movies, so there's that. But hitching their future to James Gunn will be an anchor around the neck of the DCU.

It's going to do around 375-400 domestic. You can try and spin it all you want, but that's a great number for the film. DC has really struggled outside of Batman stories in recent years

Boo hoo, some guy on the internet doesn't like something you like. And even though I've explained why, over and over again, you must now resort to ad hominem attacks to try and 'get' me.

Interesting that you think one must lose their personal views on something once they're married.

What an odd fricking question you ask.

Keep moving the goal posts

You really have no idea how much of a fricking laughing stock you are on this board. It used to be funny. Now it’s just fricking sad. Like watching your grandpa grow senile and start to shite himself

The great debate for this summer was which one of these 3 would win the summer.

Jurassic World - Rebirth

Superman

Fantastic Four.

I've seen the JP movie. Plot didn't make lick of sense, but ... dinosaurs.
