was done because fans were not falling in line with gleefully praising Captain Marvel.

No it was done because people review bombed it before the damn thing was even released.

Called it that it was RT’s move to shield for Captain Marvel.

Keep up.

Marvel had Captain Britain for their UK appeal... but an actual UK created superhero? Not sure.

I do know that Judge Dredd is a UK creation, but aside from him and Death's Head I'm hard pressed to think of comic creations from the UK.

No that's literally what happened, the movie wasn't even out yet and it got bombarded with 1 star reviews.

Pretty sure it is set up now that in order to leave a negative review, you have to buy your ticket through Fandango or some shite.

But if you leave a positive review you don't.

I maybe wrong, I stopped paying attention to the audience score after they made the change.

It makes you buy a ticket through fandango to leave a verified review which counts on the audience meter

there is a separate unverified rating for All Audience that isn’t published on the main page of a movie (have to click popcornmeter and select all audience to see it). So, you can still leave a rating without buying on fandango

Unverified rating for Supes is 90%, whereas verified is 96%

Making verified reviewers an extremely niche subset of moviegoers, right?

It’s 1,000 verified vs 5,000 unverified

I am not really a viewer of his videos.

Are there specific examples of him crafting political narratives where none existed?

That isn't answering my question.

We also know that RT will remove negative reviews. . .so we can't be sure how many non-verified reviews there really were.

RT audience score overcorrectionw kinda rendered it useless.

I am not commenting on the quality of the film, but rather that data set

It seems like a great time to launch a movie review site that isn't policing it's reviews so heavily. Could be easy money.

From my understanding, just as an example, they removed negative reviews that were published for Ironheart before the show was released on Disney plus.

I think they opened up reviewing like a couple hours before it was released, who knows maybe as a trap to get people that were going to do that.

Not sure if they’ve done similar on other things

I don’t disagree that it probably artificially inflates the audience score on their platform though

Whatever America sells to them, honestly. Superheroes are an American thing, exported abroad. Even foreign superheroes like Captain Britain were created by American writers. But usually foreign kids just read American comics translated to their language.

Anytime I hear about a site manipulating or curating a crowd-sourced review function, I just dismiss it whole cloth
