The dude genuinely thinks that the Guardians of the Galaxy approach can work with every superhero.

I'd trade away the excessive slow mo for the crappy music every time.

I think this universe is done. MOT will be the last film in Gunns universe. I think Paramount will fire him and Safrene…. If you can reboot Spiderman 3 times you can reboot Superman 3 times and audiences will forgive you.

I would keep Corenswet and the other castings because he’s a great casting and the others are mostly good/great, but Gunn needs to be stripped of decision making authority

This bit also adequately summarizes the Zach Snyder aesthetic.

The cast is mostly good but the universe is so out there it’ll be hard to tie anything connected to it back into something productive. Maybe if they stopped everything in its tracks right now it could be done but if MOT comes out it’ll burn the cast as well.

I hate that our options appear to only be Zack Snyder's take or James Gunn's take. I'm not a huge fan of either (though I think Gunn's take on Superman is closer to the actual character).

I'm not a fan of a dark Superman in a universe where we already have Batman. Superman is supposed to be the bright counterweight to Batman's dark... having them both dark just feels like I need to start listening to Linkin Park.

Gunn, OTOH, seemed to show an overreliance on huge casts. He's better for ensemble features without a primary hero (I think he'd do a way better Fantastic Four than he does a Supergirl).

I am also tired of directors getting too much control. That's how we go from Wonder Woman to WW: 1984; how we go from Thor: Ragnarök to Thor: Love and Thunder... hell, it's how we went from the original Star Wars trilogy to the prequels - directors being given way too much credit for the success of their films.

He can only hold one thought in his head. Thing vs thing is how his mind is programmed to work.

Corenswet is fantastic. They need to let his character be a little edgier. Nerdrotic said it best his character was always Clark Kent even when he was Superman.

You can build off of Gunns Superman but Gunn has to go. Yes.

I'm fine with this.

Other than Supergirl. She's dead weight. The audience response made that decision

Gunn can do stuff like Clayface or other niche characters but he doesn't get the more noble mainstream IP.

This, 100%. Go back and watch the '78 Donner film where Christopher Reeve would casually switch from Clark to Superman in just a few words. Where he almost told Lois of his identity, but then quickly fell back into Clark Kent.

Completely retcon the Kents. Gunn's abominable version of them needs to be stricken from history.

Also don’t think he can do Clayface which is why Reeves is doing it. Too dark, too noir for Gunn. All he can do is misfit, found family, whimsical and perverted.

She would have been fine as a side character in a Superman movie. Didn't need the full girlboss movie right off the bat.

I don't. I just think it's better than watching a movie in slow motion. Rebel Moon may be the worst thing I've ever seen.
