Imagine the Barbie movie with some body builder woman strapped with an M-60 in some type of Rambo story. You think that would sell tickets, of course not but when the inverse happens and it doesn’t work clowns like that poster start blaming people the filmmakers didn’t make the movie for.

This is the essence of the problem people (Yes, some of them YouTubers) saw when Gunn was placed in charge of the DCU.
Gunn has a very specific vision, a template, of how he sees the super hero space adventure movies. It's Guardians of the Galaxy, in several forms and variations, but still, it's just that, and nothing more.
He can't help it. It's just who he is.
Much like Joss Whedon couldn't carry on with Snyder's Justice League, and tried to Avengers it up, so must Gunn do the same with his projects. It is...inevitable.
Why some refuse to see it or still believe that can work with characters like Superman is mind bottling.

Someone on here the other day, maybe Proximo, used the phrase “Gunn goofiness”. That’s exactly how I feel about his movies. Just goofy. And I’m not some movie douche who only enjoys super serious films, but his shite is just goofy to me.
