Good Lord, no. Patman was a dreary slog. That movie managed to do the impossible: it made Batman look uncool. Shitty looking Batsuit, shitty looking Batmobile. Ugly Catwoman. Batman as an emo teenager is not what I want to see.

It was a cool batmobile but there's only one i dislike more. The batman and Robin one with the open top.
Remove that one and all these are better than the Reeves charger.

A Warner Bros. insider pushed back on concern over Gunn and Safran’s larger strategy or any potential leadership changes to be made by Ellison, reiterating that they have a 10-year DC plan and “Supergirl” was just a single-film miss. The insider said the studio is “disappointed” with the film’s performance, adding the character “didn’t connect.”
Demographic data bears this out: 59% of the opening weekend “Supergirl” audience was male and 65% was over the age of 25, which shows that the target audience for a “Supergirl” movie — Gen Z women — didn’t show up.
“‘Supergirl’ missed on a lot of levels,” the WB insider acknowledged, while another studio insider underlined the biggest problem: you can’t launch a non-A-tier superhero with a budget this big anymore, the bar for profitability is too high.

It's fine if you didn't like the film, but it was a success at the box office and was well received by audiences and critics

Hollywood just refuses to admit that woman don't care about these types of movies. If you want your superhero movie to succeed, you need men. No ifs, ands or buts about it

The people making these decisions are all millionaires many times over. How can they be this stupid?
Anyone with a functioning brain and semi-interest in movies could have told you any iteration of Supergirl would bomb at the box office. The movie was DOA.

I don't know if Supergirl is that marketable but I thought the first Wonder Woman did ok financially. I remember it being good enough to keep my interest, which is more than I can say for Aquaman or Cedric's Batman.
I think you can have a successful female superhero movie but you've still got to aim it at men, or at a bare minimum don't make it hostile towards them. If you want to make fun of men and pull in Gen Z females make another Barbie.

The first wonder woman was a huge success. It was a very solid comic book film. I haven't seen Supergirl yet, but it sounds like a very generic film. A temu Guardians of the Galaxy. That just isn't interesting to audiences any more. The genre is slowly dying.

I find the behind the scenes interviews about how the movie industry currently works to be very interesting. Basically studios have shifted to be as risk averse as possible at the expense of the art and to justify their existence. They want complete control over every part of the project down to the props used.

They keep banging their heads against the wall thinking they're going to get the magical female audience. What they don't understand is if you make a good movie, the men will bring their wives and kids. That's how you make a successful movie, but you can't pander to women.

I first saw Rob bring this up but imagine if they had faithfully adapted some of these visuals from the comic instead of being entirely mute brown. A Snyder-esque take on that would look crazy
