Where do the funds come from for all of Kendall’s adventures? That bday party alone would have cost a fortune. And the attorneys and PR people aren’t free. I know he’s a shareholder but he still flies private.

I think it’s hard to understand the wealth these families possess.

Just caught up on the last few episodes. I’m surprised at how many people don’t like it.
I think the show is better when you binge it, though, because it’s such a slow dramatic burn. People are saying the characters aren’t developing - I think the opposite. They are all incredibly complex which is what makes the show work.
Kendall’s arc this season has been good IMO. He comes out against his father (again) but convinces himself he did it for the right reasons. But then he gets consumed by narcissism. The birthday episode really brought it home when he realized that it was just “an a-hole’s birthday party.”
If he had just been strung out on drugs I would agree with others that it’s the same shite, different day. But this feels different. Like he’s realizing that his values are all fricked up, and he’s living a fake life. See: the storyline about the birthday gift from his kids.
He has shown flashes of legit competence throughout the series, but his immaturity burns him every time. Assuming he’s still alive, I could see him turning things around and having a real redemption. But if there’s (at least) one more season I’d assume it won’t happen immediately.

New Yorker article came out about Jeremy Strong. Apparently all the cast aren’t fans of him because he’s one of those method actors. Seems like a dick in real life. Hell of an actor though.

Am I the only one who thinks Kendall looks a good bit like Dabo?

New Yorker article
It was certainly an interesting read. I loved the part where Adam McKay admitted Jeremy Strong is the only person that doesn't think the show is a dramedy and makes him perfect to be Kendall

quote:Ken's buyout offer was 2 billion. Assuming he only makes 6% a year on his 2 billion dollars, he can spend 120 million a year and never go below 2 billion dollars. The average person can't fathom how large a billion is and has trouble visualizing geometric growth.
I think it’s hard to understand the wealth these families possess.
A million dollars in hundreds fits in a grocery bag. A billion dollars in hundreds fits on about ten pallets. A trillion dollars of hundreds fits in a skyscraper.
The Roys have the money and power to make people disappear... or make kings. Presidents like to play as if they are above the Roys, but we've all seen that just isn't true and they always end up doing what Logan wants. He is true power. The money just comes with the power.
And that's why he refuses to step down. He enjoys the power and he knows that it's not about the money. It's HIM and his will that is the source of the family wealth and none of his successors will ever do what he can.

Okay, so Tom fricked Kendall, Shiv, and Roman is what we’re all getting at?
Posted on 12/12/21 at 9:15 pm to atrain5
That’s how I interpreted it. Man that was devastating. Seeing Roman like that was brutal .

Tom has been under Shiv's thumb for 3 seasons. And just like that, he's turned the tables on her. She knows it, and the look on her face shows it. This man who she doesn't love and kinda loathes now holds the cards.
Tom is savage. He told Kendall he's never seen Logan lose. He just saw to it he didn't lose this time.
The one blank to fill in is why the ex wife turned on them.

The balls on Tom. Holy shite.
Problem is if Logan will throw his own kids in the fire, what does he owe an in-law? Nothing. Tom's fricked, long term.

All I could think was how far was Logan’s castle from the wedding?
Seems like they drove forever through Tuscany
Tom was right all along “ Logan never gets fricked, not one time”
That last 10 minutes was intense

I think she’s just a vapid thoughtless person and she said something about making her foppish new husband happy. Logan probably just reached out and offered to give her/ Peter some property or money they wanted in exchange for altering the terms. I don’t think malice was involved.
