What a great movie that is. I haven't seen it in years. It may be my favorite Nolan movie. Sorry for the "water is wet" post. LOL

Saw it the other day in the first time in a while. One of Nolan's best IMO. the twist at the end of the movie was some of the best stuff I've ever seen in a movie.

It's the kind of twist that makes you feel like a dumbass for not even considering it, and that's the best kind of twist. Everything was there the whole time and we just missed it

Had some great twists at the end.

If you haven't seen Memento you should check that out

You didn’t find it because of course, you were not really looking.

It’s legit my favorite movie of all time. It’s that good IMO.

And it’s one of the most fun theater experiences I’ve ever had. I was there with some buddies and the theater wasn’t super full. So we could chat a bit about what was going on. And we guessed that the machine was real and creating replicas. And then that was confirmed a little while later. And the rest of the movie from there was just a fun arse ride. And the ending with the execution and the dead clone reveals and all of it was just incredible. We all loved it.

The Prestige is Nolan’s best film IMO. It’s flawless. Just so many layers and hidden clues that make it just as enjoyable on the 20th rewatch.

I also remember going to. movie theatre to see the Illusionist and being like “I thought Christian Bale was in this”

While The Illusionist doesn’t hold a candle to The Prestige, it’s still a decent movie in its own right.

I enjoyed it, but I also thought “i must have been wrong about Bale being in this because what are the chances 2 turn of the century Magian movies were made.”

i saw the illusionist first and probably skipped out on prestige for a good few years because i thought it was the same move. it's that atz/bugs' life, volcano/dante's peak, white house down/olympus has fallen, deep impact/armageddon voodoo that happens every now and then.

The idea is that the machine creates the replica obviously, so the one standing in the machine is the “original.” But it does make it ambiguous when he says something like he never knows which one he is. But the replica is the one that appears elsewhere IMO.
