Also, this begins the team coming together. It's now El, Will, and the sister (can't remember her name). One cannot defeat Vecna, it requires a team. I'm very interested in who else they add next.

Spoilers:
Called that the one behind the door was her dumbass “sister” from season 2. Such a weak arse twist. Also Will having powers now that he knows he is gay and is accepting of it. Just….. meh.
All of the “twists” they came up with were extremely predictable or just not very well done. There’s not a single character outside of Mr. Wheeler and Steve that would upset me if they died. Not a single one. The creators said the ending was going to be bittersweet and people would cry.
Which makes me think Will and Hopper 100% die and probably someone “unexpected” like Max. Which wouldn’t be that sad of an ending at all

So why would Vecna give Will these powers to use against him? Is it some sort of Vader Luke situation where he thinks he can turn him?

He didn't, at least not intentionally. When he got hooked into the hive mind, he became part of it. He's directly connected to it.
Actually, now that I think about it, the trailer did have Vecna saying he was going to use Will one more time. I'm not sure that's consensual.

I was thinking jonathan or steve bc someone needs to end up with nancy at the end.
Each major death so far has been the strong male archetype… like billy and eddie.

Doesn’t even feel like the same show anymore. It kept me wanting to see what’s gonna happen next, but I really am not liking the overall vibe of this season.

Will finally gets some needed screentime but the other 3 original boys are way in the background. All the males are really. I know this show pushes the girl boss thing but it has gotten a bit ridiculous.
Especially Nancy and Eleven. Do they have to be screaming harpies 24/7?

I didn’t take it as “I’m accepting myself as gay so now I’m powerful” but more like he stopped being so afraid. Will has been cowering and quivering this entire series. He finally grew a pair and accepted what happened to him and who it made him become.

Yeah it’s pretty bad and the show didn’t age well. I don’t understand what the messaging is regarding the gay stuff. yes Will used the power of gayness to kill the demons. Who cares.

Watched Ep4 yesterday morning... meh. Lots of predictable stuff.

So from what I remember from season 2, El’s sister can use her powers to take over your mind and make you see things that aren’t real. Wonder if that plays into the world Max and Holly are in right now.
