It was what 20-25 years ago probably more. Joyce heard the name Henry but I mean Henry is a pretty common name

And this show hasn't made leaps of connective logic before?
They made it a point to show the flyer with Henry Creel and Joyce as co-leads. They mentioned the Wheelers and Hopper. They did a whole fricking play about Henry's origins.
I think it was a dropped story line. I think Henry was originally designed in such a way as he made the town forget him and the "adults" in the show were supposed to "remember" him in the final season to bring him back to Earth and weaken him, but the people at Netflix said focus on the kids and the brothers adjusted the script.

Honestly that sounds pretty lame, glad they focused on the kids.

They could have wrapped it up in about 15min, but overall I did enjoy the final. The music in this show has been by far the best I've seen/heard in many years. Purple Rain at the end is just great.
It did have flaws, but overall I feel like it stuck the landing (8.5/10).

My main issue is how the military just disappears along with any sort of consequence for them breaking into a military installation and killing soldiers.. especially Hopper.. they literally had all of their plans and proof of what they did. We just get an 18 months later where not only is Hopper not in a military prison but hes the chief of police. Lol i know its a show but its like they didnt even try.
Did I miss something?

They could’ve had El bait them onto the bridge and collapsed it on all of them instead just kinda forgetting they were there. This was another consequence of the show losing its sense of proportion and scale but after seeing the entire thing that’s just not what the show is. There are always going to be holes and inconsistencies with it because it’s just not trying to be grounded.

Wow, that ending was worse than the LOST ending.
What were you hoping for? My daughter in law, daughter, and I all thought they absolutely nailed the ending. El had to die. Them playing DnD and telling that story of the Mage, a new round of younger brothers and sisters playing Dnd...I loved the ending.
Yeah, Dustin's speech was too much, but it didn't ruin it. The older kids on the roof or wherever was fine. It was just, hey, we've moved on and we are ok. That was all they needed. The town has no clue what really happened because it all was just a big "earthquake."
There were things I didn't like about this season. Season 1 and the mall season (3?) were my favorites. But I loved the end. They did so much better than many other major series. We also loved the bit with kid Henry and the man with the case.

I think they tied it up nicely. Ive come to believe it is tough to wrap a show up all nice and neat. We can opine all we want but it is overall a very good show.
I think fhat last shot of Linda Ha.ilton signified they were never going to go away and fhat is why El's ending is what it is. You just have to file the rest under writer creativity and such. Dont get me wrong, I laughed at how inept the soldiers were. Nevermind that was the government's choice to guard an interdimensional portal

The volume two episodes had me thinking they would blow it, but I liked the ending for the most part. A few things I would’ve liked to see done differently, but overall solid.

Same. Far far from perfect but the finale was not a fumble.
1 and 3 are my favorite seasons but after seeing so many series falter in their last planned out season it was good to mostly enjoy a finale.

I thought it was a touching tribute to Eddie, since Dustin did exactly what Eddie said he was going to do when he graduated

Where did the rock in the briefcase come from?
If Henry was infected in the cave at a young age, when did he end up in the lab? Cause he was apparently in Hawkins High.

Millie Bobby Brown didn’t seem to care for her character’s ending.

quote:Yeah, I have to agree. It was two more hours of the same awkwardly paced garbage we got with part 2. They seriously could have ended the series with a 2 hour finale following the first half of this season, or even replacing the final season entirely. The endless epilogue was like the LotR ending if it was written by 25 year old retards.
Ending was turbo arse.
The messaging continued to be out of control. Nancy became an absurd cartoon character, Linda Hamilton is yet another case of people writing a man and casting a woman, and all the guys apparently want to settle down and have kids.
I loved how they made coked-up scumbag Jonathan a communist filmmaker in a show that cost over $400 mil. to make and requires a subscription to watch.
Also, Will's happy ending was to go to a gay bar?
This show was clearly originally intended to be a single season mini-series, but it's popularity made the money impossible to resist. They came up with some good ideas in the subsequent seasons, but it was clear that they had to constantly use filler and repetition to keep it going for as long as they did.

The writers def gave everyone a nice send off and long monologues...
I wonder if these young actors can shake off the strangers thing stigma going forward for other gigs

Max and Lucas got to go to a movie……
Those happy little vignettes are all just stories from Mike as well. Realistically, all of them will be dealing with issues for the rest of their lives. Imagine Mike trying to have a meaningful relationship when he is comparing every woman he meets to a literal superheroine. Will on the gay bar scene as a guy who got mind fricked repeatedly throughout his youth is just tragic. Max lived in the mind of a psycho killer for over a year. Lucas is going to wait around on her through her years of therapy. Dustin is the only one I’d have any real hope for as far as living a normal life. Maybe he and Susie can reconnect after college…

A few of them have had other gigs, like MBB in the Godzilla movies and Steve in Free Guy.
Also, isn't Sadie Sink supposed to be the new Jean Gray?

MBB has a production deal with Netflix and has already been in a bunch of other stuff. She has starred with Henry Cavill in a couple of movies based off books about the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes. Sadie Sink seems primed for a big leap as she is joining the MCU in the next Spidey movie. I know Finn was in the Ghostbusters sequels. I honestly hope that the actor who played Lucas gets some gigs.

I just found out that the gay Will scene from E7 has its own making of documentary film. Apparently, it took them 12 hours to film it.
