A lot of people are complaining about Episode 7, but a gay guy making the end of the world about his sexuality may be the realest thing I've seen from a show.

I don't even care that he's gay. It was just a moment with a shite ton of poor dialogue that shouldn't have been in that moment IMO.

Same with Max and Holly having a whole arse long conversation about how to get out of Vecna's grasp while the brief window was open for them to get out. Again, too much dialogue there.

I think that's my biggest issue with the writing this season. There's been some really great moments that make sense and good action (even if you have to suspend belief on some of those action points). But the dialogue and the space its taking up is just woof.

Hold on a sec……you’ve been melting for multiple days about people pointing out the bad parts of the season and you hadn’t even watched it yet?

I finally found what his stupid speech reminded me of when he was naming all the relatable member berries 80s crap.

Nolan Sorrento in Ready Player one when he is talking about cracking open a Tab and listening to Duran Duran.

This meme comes to mind too, but when trying to relate to the 80s kids audience.

Hold up. You been complaining about all of season 5 and I posted my review of each of the first 6 episodes and 80% of your ridiculous criticisms I never even noticed.

Some of yall are not here to enjoy a tv show. You’re here thinking you’re some paid Robert and ebert snobby reviewer. Episode 7 tonight.

Majority of yall problems are binging thru whole seasons. You’re going to get sick of it and have it feel repetitive if you just non stop plow through it.

Ok, big guy. That’s a lot of words to say you were shilling for some shite you haven’t seen.

I have made some specific complaints about god awful writing, acting, pacing and sermonizing. Heck, I even extended the olive branch and said i was glad you were enjoying it. You repeatedly melted and defended the show like a tween girl. You say you haven’t noticed the issues…well no shite, Sherlock. It’s because you haven’t watched it yet.

It’s not the binging, it’s the decline in quality. I can accept that people have different tastes, but you white knighting for something you haven’t watched while dragging other posters is some bullshite. If you get through it and like it, good for you. It’s still objectively bad. There’s dumbasses out there who will defend a McBurger because they’ve convinced themselves it’s good. If you like it, who am I to argue your taste, but it is still an inferior product.

Same, but where do they even go with this? I think most people kind of knew he was gay but now that it is out, what does it do to advance the plot?

The last episode is a 2 hour event, and I can't imagine it even gets brought up again.

420 should go back to his original account and knight for Disney prop instead.

I was fine with Will's conversation with Robin about coming out, it was reasonably well done and touching. I was even fine with that conversation making him a stronger person and unlocking some power - new confidence could do that. But the whole coming out scene at the end of 7 was so looong and so cringe that I had to skip forward a few times. Just bad, bad, bad. Hopefully we can put that behind us and enjoy the finale.

they referenced it several times in the earlier seasons. Hell I think season 1 made references to it.

Maybe Will dicks down Vecna a they cut to credits. Henry appears to be a closet dweller as well.

Omar kissing his boyfriend was less gay than that monologue

You constantly miss the point. Nobody cares if Will is gay just like nobody cares that Omar was gay/bi. If you write the character well that’s all people want. The Wire didn’t shoehorn Omar’s sexuality in as a main plot point 95% of the way into the series. Omar was a badass character, Will could have been a badass character too, they just wrote it so poorly it’s hard not to laugh at how bad it is.

Haven’t read this whole thread, sorry. But I was wondering, anyone else a little disappointed that the show has basically made Mike’s little sister the main character? Feel like they have tried to highlight too many people too late in the game.

I mean, her story has been better than most the cast this season. Holly hasn't bothered me except when Max decided to monologue when they needed to escape.

Most on the board, not all, seem to be disappointed in this season so far. Pretty obvious dip in writing quality. Haven’t seen too many complaints about Holly’s story, it seems to be one of the highlights. But agree, too many people being highlighted which waters down the overall product.
