I still think Max will die. I don't see much purpose in her writing all of those letters if we don't get a sad montage of all the kids and family members reading their goodbye letters from Max.

I do believe she will be instrumental in the destruction of Vecna/mindflayer/upsidedown

I think her consciousness is stuck in the upside down and I'm willing to bet that Vecna doesn't realize this. I think she will show up right when she is needed and sacrifice herself for the group.

Her body will remain in a coma after the end of vecna/mindflayer/upsidedown... They will make the decision to remove her from life support... every one cries, everyone read their notes....

Gotta bad feeling about Steve. His arc has been so good from S1 to now. His sacrifice in some way would really hit hard but I feel like it's logical at this point.

Wouldn't worry about Steve. Much more worried about Dustin. No way will he want to see his other best friend in Steve die, so he sacrifices himself to save Steve.

Finished last night. Solid season overall, better than S3, but not nearly as good as 1 & 2. Love that they leaned into the horror side of things more. It's about time they put Sadie Sink to good use since she's one of the better young actors on the show. Max’s escape from Vecna in E4 was one of the best scenes in the series, and the Master of Puppets scene was a personal highlight for me

That being said, there are some issues:

- Duffer Bros have GOT to be reined in by an editor. The season's runtime was over 13 hours and they could've easily done it with 10. So much wasted time, it's like they don't let anything end up on the cutting room floor . So much bloat.

- Too many goofy characters. I get that a show like this needs some comic relief, but they're leaning way too heavily into it. Argyle, Yuri, Murray, Robin - just way too many "whacky" characters with too much screen time and not a single one of them is really funny. I wanted to throw my drink into the TV every time Argyle was on screen. Terrible. I'm sure the middle school viewers thought he was hilarious

- Lazy writing. No real stakes for main characters, overly reliant on flashbacks and montages, bullies were horrible one-note characters (as opposed to Steve's bully portrayal in S1), the Russia parts were bad, pizza van gang stuff was VERY bad. The russia stuff just went absolutely nowhere. Hopper ends up in prison, escapes, ends up back in prison, escapes again, goes back to prison again. Come on man. You could really tell they were spinning the wheels with that shite. They tried to make it tie into the main gang with the "we need to weaken the UD" but

- Cast is just too damn big because they refuse to kill off main characters and they keep making side characters more important. Even some of the cast members were roasting the Duffers about it. Hopper sacrifices himself, oh wait he jumped through the gate. Max dies, oh wait El can resurrect people now. Steve/Robin/Nancy are all getting strangled to death for an hour, oh wait nvm it's all good. Eddie is a new character so he can die. When you have this many characters to rodeo, it's really difficult to stay engaged.

I really hope this final season is smaller and more focused than these last two. Go back to basics and have the original core cast fighting in Hawkins together. The quality has suffered from everyone being so spread out. Dilutes the quality of each plot thread since some are just vastly more interesting than others.

I thought for sure Steve was going to bite it this season. So many hints

Eh that’s subjective all of them seem to be fan favorites

I mean Max is pretty much brain dead and the UD is in the real world now I’d say that’s pretty high stakes

Jason definitely could have been done better or at least have him live. See how he’d react to the truth instead of being caught up in the Satanic Panic

In this article, the Duffer bros. confirmed that the entirety of Season 5 will take place in Hawkins and the run time will be shorter: Article

Bold prediction....Sadie Sink will have a better career than Millie Brown

I agree, but don't think it's that bold. She's a better actress and has been on Broadway. I think you could see Mille Brown going the influencer route (already hangs out with the Kardashians), but Sadie Sink will probably have a better acting career because she is legitimately better.

Quality stuff here, though I think both can be successful. MBB has been the mainstream one to this point but I do think Sadie is going to see a lot more work after this season. She was also great in Fear Street last year, so may find some success in horror or thriller types. To start at least.

I disagree with you thinking 2 was better than 4.

I’d rank them

4,1,3,2

Sink is the better actress but Millie is a “star” and will get way more opportunities just on account of her massive following

finished the season and have a question about the painting Will did

Will is gay and has feelings for Mike.

Idk if they’ll be more explicit about it in season 5 but I thought it was pretty obvious with Will’s moodiness and jealousy over Mike, the conversation about being different in the van that Johnathan eavesdrops on, Will explaining the painting, and Johnathan telling Will he can talk to him about things i.e. telling him he can come out.

Duffers just came out and said Will is going to have a very big role in Season 5. Can’t wait for the bitching on that

I mean he's arguably the most important character in the series. He's connected to Vecna like the others aren't not even 11.

His writing has been shite and his acting has been shite because of the writing.

Agreed. I actually think his actor, Noah be, is a lot better than Finn Wolfard. It’s just the writing for both has been bad

this 100%. He was amazing in Season 2 and I think he can do well with quality material

Mike on the other hand...the best script on earth couldn't save him. He is just horrid.
