I feel like Hopper storyline is setting up for something big but I do think it went on for too long but we still got two episodes left this season including a 2 and half a hour finale.
I think with El being in Hawkins then Vecna would probably immediately go for her with her not being in Hawkins it gives her time to get her powers back either wise she probably dies immediately

What are the tentacles that connect in to Vecna?

I thought that was part of the hive mind in the upside down

See.. I don't agree with that take.
Dustin was always the comic relief. Season 1 was dark-ish but always had a goonies/ monster squad vibe.
Young kids in action, but still some fun humor

I liked Robin more in S3, which is odd since almost everything went downhill that season & I've enjoyed S4 more.
But Robin rattling on for 5mins every time she speaks, to show off her quirky personality, is getting old.

Yes, there were comedic beats peppered in to the story, but at its heart is was NOT a comedy.
Are you guys not even bothering to fricking read anymore? Jesus.

Why does it bother you so much that GLAAD an LGBT+ company wants more representation?
You don't see an issue with less than 5% of the population getting 25-50% of the cast roles under the guise of "representation"?

as long as the characters are written well as all characters should be their sexuality shouldn’t matter.
You're right, it shouldn't. Yet Hollywood is obsessed with trying to make it integral to the stories instead of a character's sexuslity simply being something that happens off-screen that's no one's business and wholly irrelevant to the story.
They're not interested in representation. They want deliberate over-representation in the interest of advancing specific agendas.
Thankfully, in ST's case with Robin, they don't beat it over the audience's heads.

Nancy grates on me more than Robin. She just feels kind of useless outside of her occasional journalistic fact-finding mission.
That said, I'm hoping that changes a bit with her gaining the insight into Vecna. Definitely ups her role a bit in that regard.
Also appreciated the Barb throwback.

I totally agree that Hollywood often forces in political shite where it doesn't really belong to the point where it makes you roll your eyes.
I don't get this vibe with stranger things in the slightest.

You obviously are just living in an alternate reality. List all these shows/movies where it's 25%-50% of the characters are gay. To keep it on point, Stranger Things has one character out of hundreds that is gay.

Why does it have to only exist to check a box? Like the writers just can’t write a character gay without it being a conspiracy
Who said anything about a “conspiracy”? Did you miss where they announce diversity criteria for movies to qualify for Academy awards?
quote:
at least 30% of the general ensemble cast must be from at least two underrepresented groups (women, racial, ethnic, LGBTQ+, or people with disabilities)

Now before you say that’s for movies and this is a TV show, you would have to be incredibly naive and blind to think this isn’t prevalent in all of Hollywood. Netflix employees were in an uproar over Dave Chappelle making some jokes, so let’s not pretend they aren’t hyper woke.
So if it’s not to check a box, what is the point of the character being gay other than to not have her as the perfect “rebound” for Steve? Frankly I find it refreshing when they don’t force a love angle (see A Few Good Men) just because there’s a male and female character.
There’s nothing wrong with having a gay character it just comes across as ham fisted and forced in this instance and it’s in damn near ever show it’s just an observation.

I'm not alleging that ST is guilty of this. To the contrary, I already said that they've done a great job NOT being obnoxious about it.
With respect to proof: Per GLAAD's own 2019 report, they're demanding 20% representation by 2025. 400% of their actual makeup of the population is horse shite.
Disney's Reimagine Tomorrow initiative seeks to do the same thing, but with any characters/stories that are non-male, non-white.
It's not a conspiracy theory to acknowledge that there is a literal agenda to accomplish that. I get it that it's super cool and edgy to accuse others of various -phobias, but sorry, not sorry for taking them at their own words.

And it's barely even mentioned in the show that she's gay. I get that Hollywood is adding more LGBT stuff in general but stranger things is a weird show to get triggered about this over.

This thread was actually going pretty well until voxdawg insisted on ruining it.

Yea im interested to see how him, Joyce, bald Eagle, Enzo (and possibly Yuri) escape. It seems the demigorgon never went back in its cage so that could be part of the storyline.
Also with El working to get her powers back, how much time does she have? We know the army (or whatever faction of the gvt that is) is ostensibly closing in on the Nevada silo.
Speaking of the silo it seems to be quite lightly protected outside all of the doors. Bunch of entry level goon types protecting it.

Pointing something out is it being “triggered”. I don’t think anyone said they are not liking the show because of a gay character.
