I've started the new season, wondering if I should have rewatched season 3.

Who doesn’t like Ninja Murray?

not nearly as much hate for Argyle as I would have expected. My least favorite character by a large margin, ready for him to get Vecna'd.

This might not be high praise since he was stuck with the Mike, Will, Jonathan trio throughout the season. However, I found his one dimensional character far more likable and interesting than those other three characters.

One note about the Hopper storyline.

Hopper states in his sad monolog that he flew planes during the war dropping agent orange on folks..
So, we don't need Yuri for our heroes to fly back.

Like the writers just can’t write a character gay without it being a conspiracy

You might have more of a case if there weren't Content VPs in places like Disney, Netflix and elsewhere talking about 50% alphabet people representation because they can get away with it. It's been so long since we've had a female character like Phoenix from Maverick who exists in the story and just happens to be female without being beaten over the head with it - same with Robin. Don't be shocked when folks are suspicious of an agenda.

Akin to Breaking Bad, I wouldn’t mind seeing a spin-off solely focused on Murray once ST is done.

Dude is the best part of the show.

Why does it bother you so much that GLAAD an LGBT+ company wants more representation? I mean as long as the characters are written well as all characters should be their sexuality shouldn’t matter. But some of you on this board have their weird fixation on gay characters

If it doesn’t matter why is it in the script?

Because it’s being forced on the public at a much higher representation percentage than is real, strictly to preach an agenda.

frick the “woke”.

Just finished the season and loved it. Not liking that some of the dialogue felt a bit 'death flagy' for Steve though. Looks like he may be a goner.

I like the show.

I don’t like the forced LGBAGDURVK agenda shoehorned in to every new show.

And I was answering his question.

Just tell a good fricking story. If the plot is improved by showing a character’s sexual orientation, cool.

But this shite is beyond subtle or plot driven.

Which is exactly what they’re doing here.

I think Robin was probably first introduced for some work agenda, but I’ve enjoyed where they’ve taken her character and she doesn’t feel forced to me anymore.

You’re the one that seems to get triggered at the existence of gay people. Sure if the character is poorly written and their entire character is just being gay that seems forced and shitty. But Robin is a pretty damn well written character who just happens to be gay. Stop whining about a non existent agenda

You don’t know frick about me dude. I’m not “triggered” in any way by homosexuality. Got gay friends that I hold as dear as the straight ones.

And Robin being gay is fine by me. I liked the plot twist. The dynamic between her and Steve is fun.

My response was more about the “message” in general and how Hollywood can’t leave it alone and just tell good stories. They have to push their woke agenda in to every new show. That’s the part that pisses me off.

Yeah, it dipped pretty deep in to slapstick comedy there.

Last night I rewatched a Critical Drinker review of ST that came out after S3 but before S4. One of the points he made, that really hit home, was that originally ST was NOT a comedy. Yes, there were comedic beats peppered in to the story, but at its heart is was NOT a comedy.

That's one of the small issues I have with the latter seasons, with S3 being the worst. S4 reigned it in some. But the Utah side plot, and Suzie's whole house arc were pretty bad.
