(Twin peaks return SPOILERS)

Cryptic Russian message like the one over the radio from the woodsman

This is the water and this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within

The frog moth crawling in young sarah’s mouth

The scene with El on the beach reminded me of the purple sea where the fireman and senorita dido lived

The upside down and black lodge

The casino/starcourt mall

Mind flayer and The Experiment

There’s a few more but I’m still half asleep

I’m not gonna lie, I just finished this yesterday, and looking at the comments, I’m surprised it’s being received so positively.

And I’m surprised people were more critical of this season as compared to season 2. I really don’t get the complaints other than some of the humor but that’s always so subjective. The plotting and suspense of this one, even though you know what’s coming, was done way better. The flayed were great as was Billy and the Russian Assassin. Lots of just straight up good horror vibes too starting around episode 5.

Instead of being sci-fi/thriller/mystery/adventure which the first two seasons were, they changed the tone up this season, which is maybe why critics and even the audience score on RT isn’t as high. It was more of an action/horror/comedy/mystery this time around and instead of backing away from 80’s cheesy movie nostalgia they embraced it this time around. It’s really the only way they could embrace it if we’re being honest. Hell, the kids were throwing fireworks at the big arse mind flayer This is a very different show than the first season, just as the second season tried to copy the first and wasn’t as successful. It was still great TV but you could tell they just tried to copy season 1. They tried something different here at least

They have to totally shift the paradigm next season right? They can't keep focusing just on the kids and Hawkins. Its gotten too big and out of hand, and several of the main characters don't live in Hawkins anymore. So you have to imagine that Season 4 will be a fairly drastic shift in storyline and setting, right?

What makes stranger things so great tho is the setting/nostalgia they are able to create. If you go away from that in any meaningful way I think it will suffer

Really enjoyed the season, only thing that stood out to me is the increase of violence. But it’s to be expected as the characters age and the stakes are raised it really is more inevitable for there to be more violence/gore.

I just wish there was more happenings in the upsidedown. I feel like they are abandoning it as a part of the story, but the story needs to go there ultimately that is where the mindflayer comes from and to truly end the threat other than just closing the door they need to eliminate it in the upside down.

It will still be Hawkins. Characters that moved away will be back visiting for a holiday season (likely Christmas).

I predict they need to use the upside down to get to the Russian base where "the American" is being held. There has to be a link or something.

I would not be surprised if almost the entirety of the final season dealt with the Upside Down.

because I was thinking "Why would Jonathan leave town too if he's out of HS?"

They were both just doing a summer internship with the paper, and not a full fledged job. They also had an argument about how Nancy had a full ride to college.

Still wondering how they didn't get flayed when they were talking with the Editor.

Was the implication early in the season that Will is gay?

I just thought he was that friend in the group who didn't get a girlfriend when everyone else got one, so he felt like he'd been left out of the group.

Soviets were pretty adamant that the portal could only be opened in Hawkins, so I don't see how the setting leaves Hawkins. Then again, how the hell did they get a Demigorgon if that's the case?

Erica pointed that out.

There was a cage cart and that's why they had the stun prods.

Favorite character this season has to be Steve by far. Dude has easily redeemed himself and I was glad to see him live. I didn't mind Robin's coming out but I did feel bad for Steve. First he falls for Nancy who never loved him then he strikes out all summer only to fall for a lesbian. Give this man a win

Here's a funny comparison, he went 0-2 in his first two fights and won the third. I wonder if he'll find love on his third try.

Nah just that everyone around him was growing up hence Will being the only one that wanted to play DnD.

Has to be with Jonathan, Will, and El leaving, Hopper in Russia, and Steve continues to be a single mom of four kids.

That's because it was completely forced to get some gay in the show.

Yeah, pretty unnecessary, and I was really rooting for Steve and her to get together so I was a little disappointed with the gay reveal.

I thought it was pretty common knowledge since season 1 that Will is gay.

I think we all are, but keeping him single keeps the his story going. A la Moonlighting. Once Bruce gets with Maddie the story gets meh. It's the chase that plays on screen.

Hope they don't make poor Will gay. The kid is just behind the rest of the kids and maybe he truly is a dork but that doesn't mean he has to be gay. Now if they show him liking Culture Club and singing along to YMCA then ok, he's gay.

Finished Season 3 last night. It was my favorite season of them all.

Yeah. Fair point. It just didn’t make sense the way she was acting towards him before the gay reveal. Not that it really bothered me, just felt like it didn’t add up.

I just finished season 3 today and thought it was really good. Better than 2, not as great as 1. I think Hopper is still alive after watching the post credits scene with the Russians. And as a father with a daughter, that letter had me a little beside myself. Really good show.
