I just watched the first 3 yesterday.
For those complaining about Stick putting up the 100k up front, I believe that more than agreeing to 70/30 without all kinds of contracts being involved.
The unbelievable part to me is that Wilson has never heard of the kid. the legend of a 14 year old roping the ball 300 off the tee and then quitting one day would be all around the local courses, especially be known to a local golf pro teaching lessons there.
Im not sure where they are going with the girl Santi likes. Is she going to jump in the RV and go with them? It seems like where they are going with it.
All in all, I like the show fine so far. I don't think it has the heart of Ted Lasso. I don't think it is as funny as Gilmore or Tin Cup. I think before it is all said and done, we will get a taste of Kingpin where Stick starts playing again and finds the game again.
The current path it is on, it will struggle to stay interesting for a 1 season show, it will really struggle to go any farther unless the whole formula changes.

The girl has some old punch bug and is going to follow them.
I liked it more than I thought I would.
The music was def good and when you're Apple I guess you can afford it.
The mom is giving me mlfy vibes with that red dress.

watched it tonight, pretty entertaining, we will ride it out
the bartender girl was Gov John Dutton’s Assistant on Yellowstone
what I find funny is Pryce lives in Fort Wayne Indiana, pop 286,000
he is easily one of the most well known residents in town, especially for how infamous he is. as a joke, that yellow vette would be one of the most recognizable cars in town too. yet nobody seems to know who he is.
I despise the girl boss story lines, especially the writing in the bar scene and the way the Elena character is written
so many of these shows are some redemption arc, or rising about trauma or oppression. Cant we just write good stories any more?

It's not smartly written and is likely going to piss everyone off.
I like the concept and AppleTV+ has been great for viewers, but this show hopefully gets better and not the cliche that will end.

Generally, I like the show because I’m a sucker for sports stories.
But I find Santi and his mom so unlikeable. I actually want to like them. I just can’t. They’re both a couple of negative smartasses. I don’t know if there are people out there who like this sort of character, but they are everywhere in shows and movies these days. Maybe I’m the problem.
Similarly, I’m so tired of the Marxism-obsessed rebel girl trope.
On the positive side… Judy Greer.

Yeah i dont think this show is what you are looking for.
Yea thanks but I think I'll decide for myself if it's a show I want to watch or not not base it off your shite opinion.
quote:
Could tell it wasnt gonna be based on realism at all as soon as the kid lined up and hit his shots off the signs with the yard marker. Scottie Scheffler isnt even pulling that off.
Its a comedy using golf as a backdrop to create the comedy around.
Hence why I said this...
quote:
It's a comedy so it's not like it's needing to be that realistic but that part just isn't believable.
You're so obsessed with being a contrarian that you can't even have a normal conversation on here. Somebody dislikes a show you like? Nope, not acceptable, have to argue to death why they are wrong. Someone likes a show you like but has a minor gripe with it? Nope, also not acceptable, no show Corinthians likes can have any type of complaint against it whatsoever.
I'm so over you as a poster. I've tried to defend you in numerous threads when you won't shut up going back and forth with Kiiju Fatkid, and Madking ruining threads but I actually see why they can;t stand you. You're a contrarian no matter what opinion someone has.
I'm going to keep watching this show, and probably enjoy it. Propbably have some things that get on my nerves too. If that upsets you, please go scream into a pillow instead of responding to me on here.

This sentence contradicts itself.
Since the show isnt realistic anything is believable.
Him giving her 100k is actually more believable/realistic than the kid hitting his driver 325 yards carry and hitting a target because some dumb rich guy could actually do the former.

Its fine. Now that we know the show is not based on realism i just dont wanna hear every episode how this detail or that detail isnt believable any more than while watching game of thrones I wanna hear someone explain how a Dragon with that mass couldnt fly with those wing proportions in an earth-like atmosphere.
We get it. We just dont care.
The guy above you did the same thing talking about how a guy like Owen Wilson would be known in a town of that size

Im sure somewhere there was an RV salesman explaining to his wife how Marc Maron getting stuck under the mattress was impossible because of the way they are designed. Dont be that guy. It's not that serious.

I think there's a limit to suspension of disbelief. At some point you can't help but "come on".
Like Michael Scott driving into the pond. That was super dumb, even for him.

I agree but since the first episode established that the show world isnt realistic at all then pretty much anything can happen.

Who is we? You're the only one mad at people for having their own opinion.

OMG THE HORROR!! You should definitely argue with him about it.

quote:What is wrong with you? Of course a show about a golf phenom is exactly the same as a show with a girl that gets burned alive with her petrified wedding gift dragon eggs and lives through the fire with now hatched dragons. They're exactly the same.
Are you seriously trying to say I should suspend my belief in this show like it's a fantasy series?

They are both equally impossible.. You cant get stuck under a mattress in a way where it cant be opened from underneath. Noone would pay 100k to coach a kid after 3 impossible swings. Noone would bet an ex golf pro $3k on an unknown kid they are coaching/caddying. No local club player would be sexually harassing a tranny right in front of his buddies.

I love this site. Only on tigerdroppings could someone think that getting stuck under a mattress is just as unlikely as dragons existing.

I like it. Apple loves to build their tv shows based with trauma a lot.
