Looks like about 50 mil yesterday, so 90 mil so far. It should do 180-190 this weekend.

Which is a very disappointing opening for the final chapter of a Star Wars trilogy that has grossed astronomic numbers up to this point. Hopefully this will be the final strike that kills Kathleen Kennedy's career at Lucasfilm. That woke bitch killed Star Wars as far as I'm concerned.

That's fine I think, but she it organically and dont throw it in your face. Instead of having NOT PENNY'S BOAT say to just Holdo maneuver them and Poe stating that was a 1 in a million chance and would never work again, show a scene or two of them trying it and failing then realizing how amazingly lucky Holdo was and that there's a reason it wa as never a thing.

6.9 on IMDB seems about right, actually, not as shitty as the last one (not possible) but not good by any means and with a few really irritating parts.
Regardless, though, the trilogy as a whole is a completely clusterfricked mess. That's how it will be remembered, and I just don't see how anyone will want to watch it in the future. I can;t even stand to have either of the first two on TV in the background.
Kathleen, with all of her girl power fistfricking into the series has done incredible damage to women in Hollywood. And it's not just her. Every time you hear that girl power is driving a project, it equals total crap. Men in Hollywood are all walking on eggshells because of MeToo, so they'll always have that leverage, but the audience has begun to associate their agenda with shitty products. If they didn't piggyback it onto established brands, they'd make no money at all.

Box office is coming in at lower range of expectations.
All the forecasts said 200-220, looking like it's going to be 190-195.
For comparison
TFA - 250 mil opening weekend
TLJ - 220 mil opening weekend
190 would be another 30 mil drop off in opening. It's also doing absolutely nothing in China at all.
I predict much like TLJ there's going to be an extremely sharp drop off after the first 2 weeks.

In line and I forgot how incredibly cringy some of the fanbase can be. There are two guys attempting to talk to these women in line in front of me and they are failing miserably. I give them credit for trying though

Yep...an analyst I follow that's really on point with numbers is predicting just under 500 mil, domestically. That would be pretty bad for the final film of this trilogy.

According to what they've done on TROS, I think the real problem is Disney & Lucasfilm don't really figure out what Star Wars is. If your own people, your own fans couldn't even relate to Star Wars cultures right now, you can't expect more audience from other countries to buy it.

I think it was decided before this. That's why Feige was brought in. I also expect Filoni and Favreau to have more control moving forward.

If these numbers hold and there's a steep decline in the second weekend, look for some announcement in the very near future.

Which sucks because I would like nothing more than a walk of shame for that woman.
I wish they would have fired her 3 years ago....but...I can only hope it's soon.
This China issue shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Star Wars in China was basically an unknown before TFA. It did ok. TLJ didn't. I figured the numbers would decline drastically with another release.
I'm thinking this film will make a out 575-650mil/1-1.2bil during it's run. Will that be enough of another missed opportunity (TFA numbers) to make Disney push her out the door? We'll see.
