Yeah that’s why I like the anthology conceptZ

Find writers and showrunners who are funny and good but maybe don’t have a 9 season arc in mind and let them law television.

“When I was a young queer girl, I was just hanging out with Ursula the sea witch [from The Little Mermaid],” she told the outlet. “As a queer girl growing up, if you don’t identify with the heroes, and the villains show up and they’re all queer-coded, you’re like — yes, that’s me!”

What the frick does this mean? Can someone translate it into actual english that makes sense.

quote:

Headland would go on to explain, “Listen, I relate to male characters all the time. Like I root for Mando. Like I root for Luke. I like deeply, deeply… Well, not sure how much I care about Han Solo anymore. When I was little I really liked him. When I watch him now, I’m kind of like, ‘Gosh a lot of my psyche makes sense now. Hmm. Ok.”

“All joking aside, I think that truly, I think that an inclusive space means an inclusive space. But at the same time I think that just because something has a female protagonist doesn’t mean it’s only meant for women,” she added.

Again, wtf does this mean? Bitch, you have explained nothing. Is this what movies and television are now? Whatever internal conflict these people have playing in their heads gets vomited out onto the big screen and we all get to suffer trying to interpret it? Can you just make something that is universally entertaining? FFS, is that so hard to do?

You have to be pretty damned dishonest and completely biased to keep denying what the show runners are openly telling you they’re doing. That’s some next level delusion/dishonesty.

This sounds about as exciting as getting a vasectomy with no anesthesia.

So the show about a lesbian archeologist is going to be political? No way!

I don't think this show is about that character.

The lesbian archeologist is rumored to show up in Andor S2.

Once again people remember, it's not happening....there is no agenda being pushed and it's not affecting the story.

Even a generally bad show like Book of Boba Fett produced some great episodes,

My kids absolutely loved BoBF and I thought it was ok. Their friends all loved it too. We may not like it as much being middle aged dudes but it was very much a fun stars wars show.

This is just going to be some bullshite.

Welp, this show is going to suck.

Given that it is Disney Star Wars, sucking was inevitable.

The ones that said in interviews they’re basing their show off a Trumpian dystopia?

Mandolorian >>>> Rogue one

Sorry but I don’t want or need dark gritty depressing Star Wars.

It’s not why I loved The original trilogy.

She’s mostly talking about herself and the characters she related to as a kid.

Then this line is pretty easy to understand:

But at the same time I think that just because something has a female protagonist doesn’t mean it’s only meant for women

I’m not defending it. I doubt I’ll even watch it. It’s that y’all have been bitching about post-Lucas Star Wars for literal YEARS. Are you guys expecting the franchise to be something it has taken transformative steps to no longer be? It’s done. It’s over. I’d say watch something you enjoy, but deep down, I think y’all truly just enjoy bitching about it.

What are we allowed to bitch about on the internet?

This “lol why do y’all even care” attitude is fricking gross

At least admit your position instead of pretending you’re above it all

I'll watch it and still bitch about it.

That said, I am not a big fan of the woke agenda in almost all things Hollywood at the moment. That said, it's a moment in time and hardly new. The social agenda of the day has always been a part of movies, TV, literature and the arts in general.

It’s just annoying because you used to be able to discuss theories about what’s going to happen in a
Show or whether you liked dialogue.

It's not that bad.

I come here often just to see what new shows I'm missing.

Same with the book board.

The Rant has turned the worst, just consistent trolling.

I still like it here. I can look past the nonsense
