Take a permanent break.

The marriage of Star Wars and Disney has been a disaster and ruined my perception of both.

Everything Disney touched from ESPN to animation to feature films turned all SJW.

The company really misread the pulse of the public to satisfy the wantings of the fringe.

Look at all the firings at ESPN the last year because they lost too much money and sponsors because sports fans got tired of being lectured at.

You sound just like the posters who said no Saints fans would actually protest the superbowl.

Guess what? You piss people off and they can tune it out.

Its a smart move to take a break. A couple of years worth actually. Quietly route Rian Johnson's planned trilogy into a swamp and let the combination of nostalgia and hopefully good small screen projects rebuild faith.

Then you come back with something new and fresh.

One way Lucasfilm drums up excitement for these films is by digging up old beloved characters.

They did it with Han and Leia in TFA. They did it with Luke in TLJ. And now they're doing it with Lando. Disney has already clearly established that they don't want any of these characters serving a major role in the new trilogy, because it has to be all about the new generation. But of course they have no issue putting the spotlight on them prior to the film's release to reel in longtime fans.

Colbert asking "does Finn get any closure in this movie"?

Closure from what? This character (like all of these new characters) has no trajectory. No growth. No development. His "conflict" with Captain Phasma is a punchline.

He's been one of the most useless characters we've ever seen.

Supposedly John Boyega's friends despised what they did to Finn and they told him to his face they hated TLJ. They didnt appreciate the fact that he had been reduced to comic relief.

I too wondered why they got a black actor and then took his role, which had potential, and turned him into a court jester.

Same thing with Rey. They get a female to check off the diversity horseshite and make her character completely uninteresting.

Speaking of Plinkett, a Youtube channel called hackfraudmedia has a TLJ review that is an excellent ripoff of a Plinkett review.

Major surprise: Idris Elba has assumed the role of Princess Leia in place of the late Carrie Fischer.

“We believe the public will embrace this change and hardly notice a difference,” Kathleen Kennedy states.

That's one issue of lesser concern in the new trilogy. I think they've put too much focus on the old trio.
