They’re lucky all three didn’t get killed by exploded glass at the end of the 5th game.

The glass game was entertaining to watch as a “spectator,” but totally unfair to the players. Those with a low number had virtually zero chance of surviving. About like calling heads or tails correctly 25 times in a row.

Some variables are fine (like the cookie game with different shapes that vary in difficulty) but a bad draw alone shouldn’t leave a player no realistic chance to survive. And the ones who did survive were almost killed by exploding glass, as you mentioned.

The over the top woman who fricked in the bathroom stall was so cringe

I hated her on screen.

What childhood game was the glass pathway supposed to mimic? If they explained it then I simply missed it.

Hopscotch?

bad draw

Not really a draw as you got to pick your number, and if I remember correctly they told them pretty early in the selection phase that the numbers represented what order you would be going in. Think only the middle couple of numbers had been taken at the point they announced it was the order. Think it was more about risk/reward. If you get the first you are almost set to have enough time, but are way more likely to fall, and if you get the back your chances of falling go way down but your chance of running out of time increases.

In the other thread, I asked about the marble game. They had 39 people.
Thats 18 teams plus crazy lady.
There was 17 left after marbles.
There should have been 19 people left, or did two team not determine a winner, and they both were killed.

A reddit thread mentioned this and they said a few of the teams had both players lose for not finishing their game within the time limit. Makes sense but they should have made that more clear in the show.

They specifically mentioned in the show that it was meant to represent a fair chance and that with some luck and skill you could survive. Sure you needed luck, but at least the game wasn't rigged against you.

Plenty of times in life people have amazing ideas and are just too early.

Watched it, thought 9 episodes was too long but enjoyed it... preferred Battle Royale which kind of falls in the same category.. hoping they can get Ice-T's character from Surviving the Game into Season 2

I would still like it where smarts and resiliency can bail you out of a tough spot. Those guys at the front of the line had zero chance to survive.

Haven't seen it yet, but I have seen a number of non-spoiler reviews.

Sounds a LOT like Alice in Borderland

I may have misheard it but when the cop was going to sleep one night, I believe he detects Morse code from the coughing. What was the point of the coughing? Was that ever interpreted?

28 was signaling who he thought was 29. Both were in on the organ harvesting scheme.

They were part of the crew that was running the secret scam to harvest and sell the organs of dead players before they were cremated. The cop killed a guard and assumed his identity to sneak onto the island. Unfortunately the guard he killed was one of the scuba divers who would smuggle the organs out to a boat so he had to play along with that subplot to remain undetected. I think the guy next door coughing morse code was the other scuba diver.

The red light, green light game scene is one of my favorite from a TV show in a long time.

I may watch that scene a few times over.

All the games were shown to them throughout the whole process. The games were painted on the wall of the room they were kept in. If they had paid attention, they would know not to get stuck at the very front.

My main question is why weren't there bathrooms in the room? I can't imagine they had to have guards run 456 players back and forth to the bathroom all the time.

I think they just couldnt see them until closer to the end with everyone eliminated. either way you might not know the specific rules. like marbles couldve been trying to get other teams marbles...some people didnt even play marbles they just lied/stole or played other games. there was no illustration of glass bridge breaking, or that you would have to carve out the shapes etc.

The first time I noticed them I thought they were added after a game was completed.

They may have been behind all the levels of beds the whole time, but I didn't go back to try to see.

Oh wow. They were there the whole dang time.

They never spoke about it did they? Full disclosure I was always pretty barbequed when I watched, and I fast forwarded through scenes when they weren't at the facility.
