Questionable list by Esquire from RLDSC's thread, so list your ten most American movies. This is probably the best board on the Rant (maybe music), so have at it. Be interesting to see what gets posted. No rules.

No order:
First Man/The Right Stuff (can't decide)
American Graffiti
No Country for Old Men
12 Angry Men
The Godfather, part 2
Blazing Saddles
Malcolm X
Nashville
West Side Story
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I'd put Superman 2 in for the superhero movie and The Sandlot for the sports movie. Maybe The Longest Day for another war movie. We need a western too so either The Searchers or Rio Bravo

Dances is one of those films we kind of disliked for a bit because it beat out Goodfellas, and many thought it wouldn't hold up well over the years. Maybe a bit too "woke" for some, I guess, but it's still a very good film and more than a bit valid.

Field Of Dreams
Dances With Wolves
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Unforgiven
Smokey And The Bandit
Gone With The Wind
The Hangover
Tombstone
Train Dreams

Could go on a long time.. I'm sure I could come up with 10 better given enough thought.

Off top of head, these would 100% be included.

Dazed and Confused
Independence Day
Top Gun
The Patriot
Rocky IV

Would take a while to think through all the options and make a confortable list.

This makes me think about including Tombstone or Hell or High Water in my list.

Also, may need a psh off thread on most American tv shows. Deadwood likely ends up on mine somewhere.
