yeah, they still know Spider-Man. That is why JJJ still talked about him as if he already did all the stuff he did and same with Happy.

What is odd is that it made people not just forget Peter was Spider-Man...it was as if Peter never existed. He had a box of GED prep books so I am guessing the wish may have erased his high school records...like he never attended the school in the first place.

Question: in the end, everyone forgot that Peter was Spidey, right? All of the multiverse characters? That’s why they disappeared?
So- when Tobey M goes back, does his MJ forget who he is as well?

According to this interview today in the New York Times with Amy Pascal at Sony and Kevin Feige, Spider-Man 4 is in early development with Tom Holland

Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal on the future of Spider-Man in the MCU:

quote:

PASCAL We’re producers, so we always believe everything will work out. I love working with Kevin. We have a great partnership, along with Tom Rothman, who runs Sony and has been instrumental, a great leader with great ideas. I hope it lasts forever.
That sounds like a classic Hollywood walk back.

FEIGE Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after “Far From Home” [the previous Spider-Man movie, in 2019]. That will not be occurring this time.

PASCAL At the end of the movie we just made, you see Spider-Man make a momentous decision, one that you’ve never seen him make before. It’s a sacrifice. And that gives us a lot to work with for the next film.

I believe when Sony and the Mouse re-did their deal in 2019 that Tom Holland signed up for one standalone (No Way Home) and I think a crossover or teamup film (I presume maybe the Young Avengers or Fantastic 4 or something with Daredevil).

I bet this means they are going to extend their partnership to include 3 more solo films and that team up film that was previously negotiated.

Never end this working relationship please. Let Sony frick about in their Sony-verse but please leave us MCU Spidey.

NWH is probably a Top 10 Comic Book film, easily.

Such an effortless movie. It dragged in parts but Defoe had more fun in this than he did in Spider-Man. They let all 3 Spidey's be themselves and be distintct. The action sequences were solid, the stakes were high.

Just super solid all around.

Wild to me that Holland is making like $5 mil for this film.

For reference, Tobey made over $100 million combined on Spiderman 2 and 3. He had points on the overall take.

Garfield made like $1.5 million combined for both of his films.

Guess we would’ve had Jake Gyllenhaal in the MCU, regardless, now that I think about it. Fun little tip of the cap in this one to Maguire’s back issues between Spiderman 1 and 2.

Saw it again and I found Garfield even more funny than before.

The whole movie was meta as frick, but they hammered it extra hard with him.

Just got back from it.

I like how Goblin emerges as the real villain of the film and he gets the greatest canon makeover. You wouldn’t think that Power Ranger looking villain would be able to take on MCU Spider-Man in that iron suit. In this one he gives him a pretty rotten beat down.

I was really surprised how much the other Spider-Men were in the film. You don’t get the amazing avengers team up moment like you think you’re going to get. The film knows the audience is so vulnerable for the moment that they meet that it picks right after Mays death.

The “fan service” if you want to call it that feels earned. A lot of Spider-Man film threads over two decades feel resolved now. And I liked that.

Yeah, I was wanting them to go back to the drawing board for the Goblin’s costume since it doesn’t really work in the MCU, and man did they do it organically. Dafoe just killed it in this film and I’m glad he emerged as the main antagonist in the end.

This has to be fleshed out. His records could still exist, just like Spider-Man’s actions, but no one remembers Peter attending

If not, he’ll have to forge an entirely new legal identity. If so, how? In this take, Stark’s computers would have no trace or memory of him

So I am a complete dumbass, maybe the biggest in the world. I was supposed to be at the 9:30 showing. I was a bit late, so I ended up not getting to theater until 9:45. I knew I was a little late.

When I got in, I immediately got the feeling that dang, they must have showed alot in those 15-20 minutes, because it feels like I've already missed alot.

At the end of the movie, I realized I was only in the theater for 2 hours, and I know the movie was longer than that. Turns out, I went in the wrong theater. Instead of walking into the 9:30 showing, I actually walked into the 9:00 showing.

Oh well, that gives me a perfect excuse to watch the movie again this weekend

I was about to say. The theater’s start time is almost always in actuality the start time for the opening trailers. And since they usually show 5-6 trailers at about 2 minutes a pop, it easily would have taken up 10 minutes of the 15 minutes you were late.

Referring to the actual movie. I loved it. Tobey's Spidey will always be classic to me, his movie is what made me fall in love with the Spiderman character. I remember watching it in theaters with my dad, and afterwards my dad took me to a comic book store to get a couple Spidey comics.

I forgot how much I enjoyed Andrew's take on Spidey. He was naturally the funniest and had the best sarcasm as Spidey. He played the character so well. What plagued him was that the actual movie, villain, and plot was bad. Not to mention his movies was made around the same time that Avengers really blew up, so I'm pretty sure that had something to do with that series demise.

Tom Holland took a while to grow on me. I never liked the first movie. It felt like he was just Ironman's sidekick. I didn't enjoy that. Far from Home was a better movie, and I allowed the character to grow on me more. But it still wasn't that great or memorable to me overall.
This movie just blew everything out of the water. Tom's Spidey went through his most growth in this movie. The "with great power..." Line was predictable and somewhat cheesy, but man did I absolutely love that fan service!!
Another point, I laughed out loud when Electro mentioned he always figured Spiderman was black. I would have lost my shite if Miles Morales would have been alluded to. But that's probably moving entirely way too fast.

This movie was even better than my expected. Even if I did miss the first 30 minutes. Can't wait to see it again.

But won’t they know Spider-Man? They just won’t know Peter Parker. Everything that Spider-Man has done will we remembered unless I am mistaken.

I was thinking on that… wouldn’t Peter then just go to Strange or the Avengers for some help?

Wouldn’t that mean Strange remembers casting the spell and simply doesn’t remember Peter’s secret identity?

Bare minimum War Machine is still around and would remember what Spidey did for Tony.

That’s why I was thinking everyone knows of Spider-Man from the events at the end of the movie (reports of the event at The Statue of Liberty include the appearance of a strange masked vigilante known as Spider-Man, etc) and because Strange doesn’t remember specifics he cannot speak on his behalf.
