Spaceman from outer space

I just realized this is the Adam Sandler movie. I forgot that’s what it’s called.
Any other commentary than “Miss?”
I know it’s going to be weird but I can usually live with that.

I think you’ve got that confused with the giant alien sky squid thingy movie.

Here is some clarification of the OP
Trailer
quote:
As an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust finds his earthly life falling to pieces, he turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together. It just so happens to belong to a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.

It's weird in pointless ways and the "story" is just stupid.
I would say spoilers below but there's really nothing to spoil.
Synopsis: Adam Sandler is a Czech cosmonaut on a long solo mission past Jupiter to explore a mysterious space cloud. For some reason in this alternate 1990s universe a recently liberated Czechoslovakia is leading the space race. Adam Sandler abandons his silly attempt at a Czech accent early in the film and just starts talking like Adam Sandler again. He also abandons any attempt to make it look like he's an astronaut who knows what the hell he is doing. His one-note wife back on Earth decides this would be a good time to tell him she's leaving him, because "bitches be crazy". A giant alien space spider shows up on his ship to help him cope with this despair and they have long conversations about how "bitches be crazy". Later they float into the magic space cloud together where particles that transcend space and time infuse them with the ultimate truth that "bitches be crazy".
It's awful and a waste of time.

We tried to watch last night. 15 minutes in and I was ready to shoot myself in the face with a bazooka.

So literally everything that’s in dust form. Ummmm, ok?
Because galaxies are old AF by their very nature.

Sounds like just the man for a job to travel to the furthest reaches of space.

this is as dumb and pointless as race and gender swapping established characters

Personally I don’t think we have enough “bitches be crazy” movies. We got a little reminder with Gone Girl but it’s an under explored genre. If 9/10 movies were all “bitches be crazy” they would still be underrepresented.

So is it the edge of the galaxy or just out into the solar system we’re talking about here?

I was hoping for a bit more out of the magic particles from the origin of the universe than a dude realizing he loved his wife

Very independent feel to it, watch it last night and thought it was good, but I really had to dig deep on the Hinduism undertones.
Pretty much was left with a “be good to people or else” message

For some reason I enjoyed the movie.
The plot is ridiculous. The creature he encounters is ridiculous.
Sandler playing a Czech citizen is ridiculous. Why not have him being an immigrant who moved to the states after his father’s death but decided to race to the cloud on behalf of his motherland? Then the accent wouldn’t be an issue.
The movie is far too long.
The best way I can explain my intrigue is that I wanted to see how it ended and didn’t care how crappy the story was that got me there.
Not a good movie, but I kind of liked it.
We went see Dune 2 in IMAX earlier in the day so maybe I just needed to come down a bit and it worked for that purpose.
Dune 2 on the other hand was phenomenal.
Sadly probably the last new movie I will truly enjoy this entire year.
Although I’m hopeful for Civil War.
