Spaceballs is my favorite Brooks movie. But unless that old man is heavily involved not sure if it will be worth it.
On a side note having Moranis back as dark helmet. lol

Josh Gad might be the biggest fig in Hollywood

The trailer feels like Spaceballs, so it’s on the right track!

Daphne Zuniga is 62. And looks it.
Most people would be thrilled to look as good as she does at that age.

She is a kind of 62 I could get behind

and. . .

Between this and a Naked Gun remake my childhood is under attack and I’m prepared to be hurt.
But I’ll watch it.

No. I really don't need to see Gad on the promo circuit telling people how Spaceballs changed his life and what absolute honor it is for him to step into John Candy's shoes. Please no.

"after 40 years we asked what do the fans want, but instead we are making this movie"

Top Gun: Maverick is the outlier. The formula worked bc Tom Cruise basically did the same movie. Had a connection to Goose with Goose's son who is now a Navy pilot. Maverick still being Maverick and breaking rules. A cocky young pilot (Hangman which is similar to Iceman). The mention of and having the character Penny Marshall to connect to original.
It was going to work. Comedies are different. There is no way that Mel Brooks would be allowed to do half the comedic dialogue and set ups from when Spaceballs came out in 1987 for today's audience. Especially the "Comb the desert" scene. So far the idea of it does not sound good.

Why not? You think he gives a shite? He has F you money and he won't be around much longer.
That being said, I'll hope for the best and expect the worst.

They gotta have a Baby Yogurt, right? They could reveal his real name is Froyo.

There is literally nothing wrong with the conning the desert scene. It’s them with literal huge combs in the desert. It’s not racist, mysoginist, or any other sort of “ist.” What the frick are you babbling about?
Most of the humor in Spaceballs is pretty damn harmless. It’s not like we’re talking about Blazing Saddles.

I know that dipshit. I'm talking about people in today's society that would be wanting to protest about the 2 black guys using an Afro pick. I laughed my arse during the movie. Society today views older movies like those comedies as our dated.
