The original actually had a plot line. Devito failing theme park guy wants MJ as his attraction. Kidnaps him, then makes him at for his freedom, so he steals all the talent from the NBA.

the plotline of the original was that devito wanted the looney tunes to be his main attractions, the looney tunes trick the aliens into a game of basketball for their freedom cause the aliens are all tiny, the aliens then steal talent from the NBA players, come back all huge and ready for the game, so the tunes get MJ and have him help them to win
MJ is the one who actually comes to devito and tells him that instead of the looney tunes, they can play for his freedom

I actually thought it looked pretty good, but I’m notoriously easily entertained.
Sucks they spoiled the Miami dunk remake in the trailer, would’ve been super cool seeing that live.

For as strongly people seem be feeling about this movie.....a number here apparently don’t even remember the plot.
Failing monster theme park leads to the villain wanting the Looney Tunes as an attraction. Bugs tricks them to requiring them to have a fighting chance, and due to their small size challenges them to basketball.
Monsters steal NBA talent, and the intimidated toons turn and ask MJ for help.
MJ had no personal stakes in the game until almost the end of the film where he wagers his freedom against returning the stolen talents

Apparently the Droogs made it into Space Jam 2... maybe Ready Player One.... but what?! A Clockwork Orange is probably the greatest hardcore movie ever made... I mean I’m not for Cancel Culture but someone decided it’d be a good idea to add Alex DeLarge into a Looney Tunes movie but somehow Pepe Lepew is too vile for the movie?..... What in the actual frick?!
Alex DeLarge may be the most despicable lead character in cinematic history... but Pepe LePew way worse than him?! They decide an actual serial rapist and murderer is more appropriate than Pepe LePew. Give me Pepe LePew’s entire filmography over Alex’s “Singing in the Rain” scene (can’t post since I sure as shite would be permanently banned). Clockwork Orange is one of the greatest films ever made, but we’re fricked as a culture if we say that is socially acceptable but Pepe LePew and Speedy Gonzalez aren’t.
