Fair point. The occasional POTUS jokes are obviously a parody of Trump, and he's often butting heads (via text or Twitter, lol) with Carell and the program, but it's funny in a Skinner/Chalmers rivalry kind of way, and not anything malicious...

I'm watching that scene right now. It's pretty good but they're making the AOC clone way too centrist. That bitch is so far left she's forgotten her right side.

Translation: I have unnatural hate for AOC based on what my preferred political party had told me to think. The fact this show doesn't match that bias makes it garbage.

Jeez dude it's a tv show that didn't one time lean any particular way

Some of you are just ate up with the politics

Uh what?

Clearly you didn’t make it to episode 3, which ended with a fantastic scene with Carrell and Malkovich testifying before her and the appropriations committee on the importance of Space Force.

It appears I'm in the minority here but I am enjoying Space Force.

No, it is not The Office...but what show can be? The Office is one of the greatest comedic television shows of all time.

I like the subtle humor of Space Force. I like Steve Carell as the General. I like John Malcovich as the scientist.

I have laughed a fair amount during the episodes, far more than I have ever laughed while watching Big Bang Theory.

I think this show has potential to go from good to great with another season.

As far as the politics are concerned, I haven't seen anything that would concern me with any political leanings. All the humor has been quite balanced towards both sides from what I've seen.

I don’t believe you are. It’s just that the minority is the most vocal because in their minds it was either meant to be a hit job on trump or it didn’t go far enough in knocking trump down. It’s fascinating how stated opinions fluctuate between those two extremes depending on what website you’re reading.

While no show is for everybody, I still think a majority of people who don’t impose politics on every aspect of their lives find this show entertaining. 76% average audience score on RT is pretty solid

Yeah I've seen a lot of people say they stopped after the first episode. Unfortunately that one is by far the worst of the series. The second episode is the funniest IMO and the rest are better / funnier than the first as well.

I think most who finish it will see it has potential as long as you don't go in expecting Season 4 of The Office.

Not everything has to be taken so politically. It's a tv show just have fun with it. Why do people have to read so much into everything and get upset.

I stopped after 3 but then went back and watched 4. I just don't find it funny in the slightest. Feels like there are these weird pauses between "jokes" that I guess the audience is suppose to laugh during? Just makes it feel hollow to me.

I'm hoping it comes back for a second season and they are able to pull it together. I still think there is too much talent in the cast and production for THIS to be the final product.

I started the show last night and watched a handful of episodes. It’s not bad and I’ll keep watching, but it’s not all that funny.

In the episodes I watched, there were only two times I audibly laughed; when the chimp turned on the drill and started spinning, and one other scene that I can’t recall right now. I also thought the star registration bit was funny, but didn’t LOL.

Comedy series to tend to take some time to find their footing, so hopefully they can get it going. There’s a lot going for the show if it can.

Yeah I’m enjoying the show but I actually find this to be a valid criticism.

I’m still only three eps in but so far the best parts are when he drops that sort of impersonation he does with the voice and actually just goes into the character and speaks more normally.

That’s the scenes when he testified before Congress and the scene on the porch with Malkovich after the launch. Those were great and it was when there was actual dialogue and not kind of buildup to a punchline.

It’s no coincidence that Malkovich was key to those scenes, as he’s been the best part of the show so far imo.

i started this morning. i had a few chuckles... mainly at the expense of the Coast Guard and Carell's distrust of the Russians and Asian scientist.

i think the problem is the general premise is ridicule in search of a joke to make about it.

i'm pretty good with evenhanded political comedy. the Hunt wasn't a good film by any means, but it skewered both sides really well. i left laughing at characterizations of rednecks, alt-right conspiracy theorists, liberal white women, and old liberal people with white guilt.

i haven't gotten past episode 2, but so far it's a bit one sided, albeit light hearted and i can handle that.

This show had a chance to be really funny but like an aged fighter trying to get that one last fight couldn't throw a decent punch.

The Joint Chiefs scenes were good along with the Lisa Kudrow prison story but overall it just wasn't very funny

Politics aside, the show just isn't funny. They testing out the mech suits episode was painful. I stopped at that point.

but will this show make it this long?

I’m sure that they’ll get a second season if that cast wants a second season.

The Fred Willard scenes were the only funny ones the entire season and he had like 4 of them total. I can't believe a cast this talented could produce something that terrible. The politics in it wasn't bad at all, it's just that nothing about it was funny.

I watched the first season. It was okay. Hope it can get better.

But, the “It’s good to be back on the moon.” flub was a genuine laugh out loud moment.
