"Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon" in Pulp Fiction. I'd never heard the Urge Overkill version, just the Neil Young one. The Urge Overkill one has a more Spanish sound to it. I like it better.

Neil Diamond...though I'd enjoy a Neil Young version.

BTW, their debut album was pretty solid.

That was actually their 4th album, though it was their first on a major label (Geffen).

They also put out an EP (Stull) that featured Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon which came out two years before Pulp Fiction:

Man, Blow had some good ones.

Anytime I hear Black Betty, this will always come to my mind.

Oh man, major generational gap here, I guess; that song always makes me think of Miami Vice (the tv show).

I'll add The End of the World - Skeeter Davis with Mad Men.

Well hell, I need to give those a listen, thanks.

Actually saw them open for Pearl Jam in New Orleans back in 1993.

Dougie MacLean’s instrumental tune “The Gael”. It was released as the cover tune on his second album entitled “The Gael”.
The tune became internationally popular after it’s inclusion in the sound track for the 1992 20th Century Fox movie “The Last of the Mohicans”, directed by Michael Mann.

This is "The Gael", the theme from The Last of the Mohicans by The Pipes and Drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, taken from their excellent "Highland Cathedral" DVD.

Demme used that song in multiple films. You hear it in Married to the Mob as well.

In November, when Dean Stockwell died, did anyone think about the great "in Dreams" scene in Blue Velvet.
