It needs to make 600M-700M. It will make 350M-400M.

Just crazy. All they needed to do was make an exact 1:1 live action duplicate of the original, and this thing would cross $1B easy.

It's truly amazing to me that Disney stockholders are still okay with this crap.

Would need great legs to get anywhere near those numbers. I think it'll finish between 250-300

Hookah and TulaneLSU in the other thread. They both said they enjoyed it. This thread is for the folks that wont watch it to complain about how bad it is.

By the end of its run it'll make history for the shittiest movie to break $1B globally.

Lol if they did its because they preached about facism to their child on their way to watch. Even the negative reviews say they avoided any political messaging in the actual movie.

I would hope your kids dont follow casting and nerdrotic like the chronically online folks like Roaad and SEK

That's crazy. I worked for Cinemark back in early 2000s. A huge movie like this would last 3 weeks in the biggest auditoriums. Would have sell out shows Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon.

This movie with those ticket sales would have the movie downgraded to the smallest auditorium and probably down to one print with in one week.

Downgraded to be replaced by what exactly?

The numbers may be small but it did $16 million yesterday and the #2 movie did $1.25 million

Last weekends biggest earner was $8 million over 3 days

The parks have been covering the losses elsewhere in Disney. Problem is, they’ve increased prices so much, that even though revenue is up, actual attendance has stagnated and may fall. On top of that, Universal Orlando is starting to chip away at Disney, especially with the opening of Epic Universe. I know plenty of people with Disney Vacation Club properties that are staying at the property but not visiting the parks as much and are going to Universal etc.

You did not read what I said. $16 mil across 4000+ screens for a 2 hour movie is not good.

The movie will be replaced by another movie who has better tickets sales. If less than 20 people are seeing a movie in an auditorium that seats 400 people, the theatre will move to a lesser auditorium.

If a movie is constantly selling out in a smaller auditorium, it will move to a bigger auditorium. Had that happen with Jerry Maguire. It was selling out like 4 months later and moved to a bigger auditorium and still selling a lot of tickets.

Such as?

Lol that was literally what i just asked.

The 2nd highest selling movie sold 1/16th of the tickets. Its gonna replace it?

That's exactly the problem with Hollywood in the early going of 2025. The box office has been suffering something fierce. Granted it's only March but the highest grossing film so far this year has been Captain America: Brave New World at $189 million, and that film is nearing the end of its lifecycle.

What's hilarious is that even left wing critics are trashing it for its obvious faux progessiveism and just being very weird in general, the dwarves and the lighting are apparently very distracting.

They aren't doing anything to combat Epic Universe. It's insane. On top of that, the maintenance of the Disney Parks in Orlando has been allowed to lapse.

They're essentially daring people to stop attending.
