Sometimes I wonder if y'all even watch the movies. The whole point of the ending of OG Predator was Arnold having to out-think the predator in primitive conditions. The hunters are far more advanced than us and physical might is not enough to win.
I feel like a better ranking than trying to pick best to worst movies would be the actuality of the protagonist winning.

Not sure I've ever rolled my eyes harder than the scene in AVP when the chick is running stride for stride with the Predator.

We're now living in an enlightened society. Of course, a diverse 5'5, 125 woman of color can take down a monster that easily took out a special forces unit with ease. She can probably do it quicker and more efficiently than the 6'3 225 muscle-bound hulk that just barely did it in the original film...because, you know, women just do stuff better.
Again, lets not be so quick to judge this one. If she does back flips and round houses to predators face than yea we should shite all over it but I find the premise at least to be an interesting one. Comanche women were brutal as frick too.

Old arse Danny Glover took one out in the sequel so I think we are past that point
Oh frick off. Predator 2 is not only the best sequel in the entire franchise but a worthy sequel to the original AND Danny Glover’s old arse was awesome in the role

Nowhere in my post did I say that I did not like Predator 2. It’s not really related to the point of my post

Are you saying Arnold should be the only one in human history capable of taking out a Predator?
No, just that some chick with a bow & arrow shouldn't be taking out any Predators, even if it never cloaks and just uses its Wrist Blades.
Sure, Arnold used a bow, but he also used arrows with explosive tips, and aside from damaging the cloaking device of the Predator even those didn't do much beyond superficial damage.
The Predator is already a physical & technological mismatch for modern people, I mean one Predator took out two Special Operations teams. Having some random Comanche chick take one out is laughable.
The pistol that Harrigan received in Predator 2 makes for a cool story, but as far as films go, going back into the past is just a bad idea. If anything, they should move forward into the future & have something akin to Colonial Marines take one on.
Also, Predator 2 >>>>>>>>>> Predators

The Predator universe could have been so interesting, as well as the Alien. 4 films out of their whole catalog are watchable

If a female Comanche Indian can take out a Predator doesn’t that kind of devalue the franchise?
Danny "I'm too old for this shite" Glover defeated a Predator in hand to hand combat and you're worried about a Comanche warrior fighting one devaluing the franchise?
Also, I understand why a lot of people hate AVP: Requiem but IMO it also has by the most legitimately horrifying scene in the series when the Alien Predator hybrid impregnates all the pregnant women at the hospital.

I guess the first suicide attempt with “The Predator” didn’t kill the franchise but this one definitely will.

Am I the only person who didnt hate The Predator?

AvPs are just awful. Really awful. I remember hyping myself up bigtime for the first one and seeing it in the theatre. What a huge letdown. My friend still gives me shite for hyping it up so much
It's bizarre how many people I've talked to over the years who have similar stories.
Two of my good friends and I loved both franchises, and we all read the comics, so we went to see AvP opening weekend. When we left the theater, we were silent walking back to the car, like no one wanted to be the first to admit it sucked.

Alien 3 better than Aliens?! Now I can’t take anything else you say seriously.

Yes, at least arguably. Alien 3 is one of the most underrated movies ever IMO. I know I am in the vast minority on that, but I absolutely love it. I won't say it's "definitely" better than Aliens, but I think it is personally. It's at least as good as Aliens IMO, although they are two different genres really.
Sorry, I forgot about this thread and the responses.

It was an incoherent mess of a film which is solely the fault of the studio and the ugly preproduction process.
Letting Fincher make his own Aliens 3 would have turned out far better than what we got, as they were stuck using large set pieces and parts of a script that were leftovers from failed previous version.
Honestly, it is the poster child for what happens when you release a trailer for a film well before you come up with a script.

Well the trailer for A3 made everyone believe it would take place on Earth. And so people were furious when that's not what the movie was about.

“In 1979, we discovered, in space, no one can hear you scream," says the narrator as the Ovomorph egg cracks at the center. "In 1992, we will discover, on earth, everyone can hear you scream.”
But I just love the setting of the space prison, and the cat and mouse kind of game within the movie. It's much more of the feel of the original Alien than the in-your-face action of Aliens. And I liked that better.

Taking it down to a closed-loop scenario like the first film had its pluses. Problem is that the script was butchered to hell and back and they were stuck with some leftover crap as a result.
At least Sigourney wasn’t put into a glass coffin by seven dwarves, which WAS considered at one point. IIRC, the head of Fox lost it over that one.
