I was in Houston for work this weekend so I took the wife out to see it and we both came out very impressed. The movie overall was very good but Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were outstanding. Lawrence is a sure bet for an Oscar nomination. Would definitely recommend it once it expands to more cities.

Anyone else got the chance to see it?

No, not at all, I'd call it a comedy more than anything else even though it deals with mental illness. It gave me a 50/50 kind of vibe except the main character has a bipolar disorder instead of cancer.

saw it Fri night and wife and I also loved it - I thought the chemistry with Cooper and Lawrence was awesome (not meaning sexually, just the ways the characters engaged in each other) and DeNiro killed it - really well done scenes, especially Cooper's "explosions"
will at least be nominated for some big awards

Limited release killed this movie. I wanted to see it but having to search how far to drive, I now lost interest.

I don't know why this didn't get released everywhere if it's as great as it's supposed to be

It's eventually going to be released nationwide. They're trying to generate some buzz by slowly milking the release and building up good word of mouth. Definitely worth the wait.

I've lost interested because of the wait. If I could wait this long, I can wait til Redbox. Great marketing, schmucks!

Saw this with the wife last night and we both loved it

the chemistry and tension that builds between Cooper and Lawrence was brilliant imo. They have a very unconventional interaction.

Spoliers:

A couple of scenes will be tearjerkers for some, ex. The scene at night when he's looking for his wedding video and the cop comes, and the scene with his dad waking him up and apologizing for not being there for him as a kid

Just got out of this film. Simply outstanding and is giving Argo a run for its money for the best film of the year. Outstanding performances by Cooper, Lawrence, and Deniro. Deniro's best film in over a decade with a great performance by him. Lawrence blows it out of the water and should win her nomination.

For a love story, it does an incredible job building tension. Can't think of any love stories on the top of my head that manage to do this. It's not if they're going to end up together, it's just they make the stakes really high for it. Lawrence and Cooper have great chemistry and play well off each other. I give this film my highest recommendation and you should all see it when it comes out into theater.

I felt like killing myself after I saw 50/50. Not a bad movie but I'm never watching it again.

I agree and your prophecy has come to pass. Usually don't go for character study/relationship movies even if they are comedies... but this one was SO well done. Lawrence deserves the Oscar IMO. She does a great job walking a tightrope of emotions with her character.
