I don't think he'll regret it. He said he doesn't want to be a tv actor anymore, so now he can focus on other projects.
That's fine, if those options don't work out for him though, could it be possible he regrets that?
The only film he has been in was cloverfield. Otherwise he was in animated stuff as a voice over. I am unsure if he alone can carry a movie, so he's limited to voice over stuff in that regard.
As I mentioned his stand up was awful, and based on reactions from his live special, I can't imagine the majority of the audience would ever pay to see him again.
Silicon Valley was a great fit for him, and really brought him to the forefront, I think he may flounder without it. Just my perspective though, and at the end of the day wtf do I know.

I liked him in the movie "She's Out of My League" as the friend with the Hall & Oates cover band. Worth watching just for Alice Eve.

I think he will end up regretting this.
I watched his stand up yesterday, it was absolute dog shite. It's on HBO on demand if you wanna check it out, really bad though
I don't find this that hard to believe. Basically every interview of his that I see, he's trying to make everyone laugh and failing miserably.

So obviously they are trying to hint that the hidden pied piper storage app was the cause of the phones exploding being paired with the HooliVR app.
I don't think it's going to go that way. I think Jack Barker just rushed this whole thing as evidenced by the discussion at the beginning and rushed this demo out too fast without beta testing multiple devices. Barker was trying to be Gavin and he isn't as savvy. There's no way a decent VR platform would just run on every model phone without issues. It probably fried older phones.
That said, I still think Pied Piper comes out ahead with their vision, but not sure how it translates into success since they just basically malware'd it onto every phone at the convention.

I wonder if they released the info about TJ Miller moving on to mislead the audience into thinking he was going to commit suicide in this episode.
lol, what are you smoking?

His bit is great in Get Him to the Greek

Just want to point out this Erlich quote:
The writers obviously are heading in a success-based direction. They are almost finished with the failure plot if they are outright making 4th-wall jokes about it.

Maybe, I don't think he'll regret it, though.
Nor do I think anyone should let fear of losing the easy dollar prohibit them from doing whatever they truly want to do.

So true. He's a bigger tool than Russ Hannamen with that car and techno music.

He's a comedian.
I mean... I guess. If you call yourself a comedian, does that make it so? I watched a little bit of his standup and turned it off. It was Amy Schumer bad. I was stuck at a table with an obnoxious drunk pillpoper at my wife's 20th reunion in Oklahoma who was 10x funnier than that lame-arse pile of discarded ingesta. That jackass at least occasionally said some left-field shite that made me laugh at him. I couldn't even laugh AT TJ Miller while he was doing his standup, much less laugh with him. It was so bad I just cringed and felt sorry for him.
He fricked up big time by leaving the show. He doesn't want to do the one thing he's actually good at. That guy does not have a future in stand up, but he's hilarious in that acting role. I think his timing and delivery are great. I've seen this before in people I know personally in other fields - they actually HAVE talent in one area, but they look down on doing that as a job and want to chase their dream in something they're not really good at. Frustrating to watch.

Dude. You do realize he's been an EXTREMELY successful standup for many years, before he was on SV right? That's how he got the job on SV?
Posted on 6/19/17 at 10:57 pm to Cooter Davenport
I mean we are 4 seasons deep, if he wants to leave than so be it. The show is successful but I wouldn't say it's on some level where he can't leave. He is getting good roles in movies and has been a comedian for awhile.

He had bit parts in movies like She's out of my league that got him the SV part
Posted on 6/19/17 at 11:04 pm to Byron Bojangles III
He was a standup before all that. He started with Second City. Which led to Cloverfield, Which led to Extract and other big parts, which led to SV.

EXTREMELY
Tap the brakes.
Richard Pryor was an EXTREMELY successful comic.
TJ is someone nobody in the general public knew of before Silicon Valley.
Whatever TJ has achieved has obviously been due to befriending the right people because I watched his standup special and it was dog feces bad.
I stand by my statement that his talent is comedic acting and he needs to find another acting role, not revisit his "roots" as a stand up. He's deluded because his friends won't tell him the truth.

I agree on the Alive Eve part but I hated him so much in that movie that I almost didn't watch Silicon Valley despite my love all Mike Judge products.

I've heard that people who know TJ either love him or hate him. Like there is no in between.
He's definitely a pompous arse, but that works for some people. He apparently had one of the worst SNL auditions ever a couple of years ago - opening calling out Lorne Michaels during the audition. Or something like that.
I don't think he'll necessarily regret leaving the show, but he'd better land some pretty good movie roles or else it could look like a dumb move. The show may only work for another 2 seasons anyway.
