His head suddenly explodes and the camera pans to an old guy pointing a rifle. It's his neighbor that was introduced several times before.
Oh shite! Plot twist! Not the random character we met earlier whose relevance to the storyline was not very clear but we forgot all about him …UNTIL NOW (in big reveal voice).

Alternate time lines from people that died in the 9/11 attacks if the attack had been prevented. A person turns into a serial killer or goes on to cure cancer or invents a new gadget.

A movie that follows a main character who wakes up and discovers that he is alone. Maybe it starts with the guy going about his daily routine then on his way to work notices no one on the road, gets to work office is empty, then decides to drive for awhile just to discover that he is alone. Sometime during his first day he gets a message (a text maybe?) that there is one women on the entire Earth somewhere that he must find to restore humanity. The plot then follows his life long journey on finding this one women. This may require him to cross the ocean eventually if he exhausts his search in America.
Note: Power grid would cut out with no maintenance after a few hours, meaning all knowledge (how to fly, navigate the sea, etc.) would really on books.

Simply tell Xenophon's "Anabasis" about the march of the march 10,000 Greeks in Persia. Real history is better than Hollywood history

I think a movie about the wartime exploits of Joseph Beyrle would make an awesome movie.
The book Behind Hitler's Lines by Thomas Taylor is about Beyrle, and is a fantastic read.

For this to work you’ll have to throw in zombies, or dinosaurs, or something.
Otherwise it’s just him traveling long distances from grocery store to grocery store while yelling “is anyone there?”
