Shane’s best skit on SNL didn’t even air. SNL pussies. The insurance commercial is gold.
It’s not SNL but it would be awesome if they did a shorter version of this (it’ll never happen):

His appearances on SNL have been overall kinda underwhelming, considering how funny he is on Tires, in his Gilly and Keeves sketches, and doing standup. I think it's a combo of the SNL writers sucking and him having trouble acting live?

Lorne loves him. Shane mentioned it on a pod and in Lornes book earlier this year. Shane said Lorne had his back and went to the top fighting for him but it was the head of NBC that said no way

Never seen that before. The cheap, ill-fitting costume sunglasses irritated the shite out of me. Other than that, meh.

Gillis is awesome. Just another example of someone who became cult. Then well loved. Then over exposed and now people say he’s overrated. His podcast is the best. The one with him and Louis CK breaking down the history of presidents may be my favorite thing ever. Check it out.
