Great theory on Burt being a fixer. That house is also nice as frick so you know he has some pull at Lumon. Might’ve been the best episode of the season. Season 2 is Terminator 2 level awesomeness in terms of follow up from the first.
Seeing Fields also reminded me I finally need to watch Fringe.

It also occurred to me there's a chance Mark gets Helena/Helly pregnant.
I mean, the intro this season is FULL of babies. This is a very safe bet.

My theory is that Burt was the one who actually invented severed technology, or at least was involved. That's why he thinks he's going to hell. Becoming severed himself was an attempt to atone.
Burt was a scoundrel.

quote:To the point of Ben, Dan or the cinematographer Jessica Lee Gagné overlooking something isn't outside the realm of possibility, but the attention to detail they have put into this show has me leaning towards everything is calculated and discussed ad nauseam. Not every show has these types with over attention to detail.
Here's another possible mistake. In Ep. 1 Mark goes to work at 9:05 on the 4th and leaves at 5:25 on the 5th. Some people think it's just a simple oversight while others have some interesting theories.
Could be because I'm just a big fan of the show, but everything I've seen from behind the scenes interviews, etc. is nothing is really left to chance. It's impressive if anyone goes down that rabbit hole.

I haven't read the entire thread. I'm on ep 3, soon to be 4. Cloning or they have a twin?

He ran to his car, drove home and agreed to a risky procedure to speed up his reintegration. He definitely thought the conversation was weird AF.

Actually IMO it was her lieing about the name. He knows that she would have known the name wasnt hannah. Thats what did it. Easy going convo before that which didnt make sense. 100% it was the hannah bombshell

Just watched the latest episode. My wife’s very religious parents got home right in the middle of the gay 3-way dinner and have no concept for this type of television or entertainment. It was incredibly awkward

Here is a very intelligent and crazy weird show, this is the 3-gay dinner scene - enjoy!

It was and explaining it to them was fruitless. They get upset at us for watching Quentin Tarantino movies

I just got done binge watching the entire series from S1E01 up to most recent episode.
I have so many questions.
- what is up with those goats
- what is the purpose of that numbers thing the innies all have to meet quota for
- is the ex wife of mark severed or dead and/or brought back to life somehow by the company?
- how did a kid get hired to be their boss. So fackin strange.
I don’t know why I never gave this show a chance when it first came out. I think I wasn’t sold from the trailer and thought it was going to be some lame office comedy, but this is dark and way more serious than I could have ever imagined.

No one knows, that's the most wtf, we don't know.

I have a nagging feeling that this is going to end up similar to Lost. A lot of silly situations & loose ends as well as unopened mystery boxes. Or more mystery boxes that lead to nowhere. But so far, they have been able to push forward with interesting plot lines.
Not sure how Rickon’s book is going to play into this. Not exactly a fan.
He started off being fairly creepy, and I did not understand how Mark’s sister could end up with a guy like him. But he kind of leveled off to be almost likable. Then they threw a big curve into the situation with his book being tied to both innie & outie world.
Seeing how *they killed off Mark‘s wife in the real world I can’t see how they would allow her to ever step out of Lumon again.
So I’m not expecting a happy ending there.
* As her death was faked, and Mark appears to be part of some bigger project, I have no doubt that the company was pulling strings in the real world.

Weird situation where the dude writes this book based on his own philosophy then gets a contract with Lumon and essentially sells out and bends to their will. Sort of loses sight of the whole deal in pursuit of 'success.'
Seems like he was a little enamored being involved in a Lumon project and being a part of something.
He may not even realize what's going on. Wild that they are going to use this random guys self help book now to manipulate the innies. Which also begs the question whether Lumon allows this to happen. Can we buy the book just accidentally makes its way to the innies in the first place?

Or.. like Helena, we find out that he's an upper level Lumon executive himself, but has been 'innied' to the outside world all along, as a major piece to the overall master plan that involves Mark & Cold Harbor.

Yes. Selvig/Cobel intentionally took it from Mark’s home so he couldn’t have it, brought it Lumon, and Milkshake forgot about it and accidentally left it out.

Could be, but I currently think he’s just a huge narcissist. I mean, after Mark’s innie shows up and the chaos with the baby and Cobel, his main concern was that the reading be rescheduled.
He’ll write whatever Lumon wants of it gives him the praise and attention that he craves. This opinion subject to change. lol

It’s pretty believable. Cobel stole it. Milcheck forgot it in the conference room when there was an incident in season one and ran off. The innies found it in the conference room.

Didn’t they think it was something else before they took it? Like something from Petey? They seemed disappointed when they opened the package.
