quote:Same here. I pretty much knocked out the whole series in one weekend. I just had to keep going. And it wasn't the type of series that forced you to watch the next episode by ending with a cliffhanger. Most of the time, the issues/missions of a particular episode are resolved, but the show was just so unbelievably good.
Its only like 14 episodes i think, totally worth it. I think i watched them all in one day, i couldnt stop
quote:I'm really glad to see this, because all the questions that were left unanswered in the show have left a tremendous void in my life.
Like others said it wraps up the series well.

Watch the movie so you can be as pissed off about as I am. It's good, but it will anger you.
Report back.

I sometimes wonder if every time FOX headquarters gets an angry phone call, the ensuing conversation goes something like this:
Call center operator 1: Thank you for your call, sir... -click-
Call center trainee: Wow, what was all that screaming about?
Operator: Oh, just another guy who finished Firefly.

Dude don't waste time. Drop whatever you are doing, even if caring for a loved one, and watch the movie NOW!!

Yeah it's a nice cap to the show. Kinda sad watching it because all I could think was "well this sucks that this is the last I'm gonna see of this story." But it's a really good movie overall. I only had two complaints 1. I wish there would have been more preacher and I can't say the second.

Yes. You have to. For the sake of the series.

I wrote down a few things on my "Guidelines for Constructive Criticism" notepad prior to the call
- Don't threaten to pour hydrochloric acid down anyone's pants
- Don't refer to any FOX executives as cocksuckers
- Don't call the female phone rep a "vixen" and pause to see if she laughs at the subtle but brilliant pun
I may have violated 2 or 3 of those tenets.

It's best if you cuss them out in Mandarin to really get your point across.

How is the movie? Does it do anything to tie up the loose ends? Will I be able to find some semblance of closure and move on with my life?
Awesome. Yes. Yes. (in that order)
If you've watched the series and consider yourself a fan, you are doing yourself a grave injustice by not watching this movie.

Serenity is a great movie and does wrap most of the major plots. Course, a lot went unresolve too, because it was cancelled so quickly.
Firefly was one of those shows most people didn't get when it first aired. (Cowboys in outerspace?) It didn't help the cause that the network blew off the pilot and opened with the train job episode. The pilot never aired on network TV. Then it was cancelled before people learned how great the writing/acting/characters and plot were. Most discovered it later when it too late.
I think I was one of the three people that actually watched it when it aired.

Right before the movie came out, my friend gave me the dvds and told me I had to finish them before the weekend if I wanted to go see it with them. Once I watched the first episode, I was hooked. I pretty much stopped doing everything until I was finished.
The only thing I didn't like about the movie is that they didn't give me enough of the preachers story. He was one of my favorite characters and I always wanted to know his history.

Whedon did a comic about it afterwards, but I haven't read it yet. Definitely plan to get around to it eventually.

Absolutely!
And, as no one has mentioned yet, you get a younger Christina Hendricks!
