George Costanza is debatably the best character ever in a comedy.

I've got Hulu and I'm struggling at times to make it through Seinfeld. It's funny at times, but I guess it just isn't my kind of humor.

FRIENDS on the other hand, I can watch pretty much anytime it's on. I've binged watched every season probably 5-6 times in my life. If I'm super bored, I'll go back and watch clips on YouTube of my favorite episodes. Like the one with the lightning round or the one where they play bamboozled.

So for me, it's FRIENDS. But I haven't finished Seinfeld, so I'll reserve my actual vote until I can finish.

Seinfeld vs Friends matchup is about as one sided as Ivan Drago vs Apollo Creed.

Seinfeld easily

I think the final episode was kind of throwing it in the viewers' faces that they were all assholes. Unfortunately, they tried to do too much and that episode became a jumbled mess with the trial. The basic idea was solid, though. They were definitely the type of people that would stand there mocking someone in grave danger.

You shouldn't admit this. This is like saying, "I don't really find Dr. Strangelove very funny, but I watch Deuce Bigelow repeatedly."

Season 3 Episode 6

Yeah the show hasn't even remotely hit its stride yet. I'm a seinfeld diehard so I'll watch any of them that are on, and really truly only actively dislike like 3 episodes total in the whole run.

But if I'm talking to someone who has never seen it and is binging from the start, I woudl probably say season 4 and onward is when it really starts to trend up. By the time you get to season 5 you're not gonna believe how much better, and hell practically completley different, it is from the first few seasons.

I can assure you if you watch the whole thing to the end there won't be any doubt in your mind which show is better.

Agreed. Season 3 has some great moments and episodes, but the game completely changed in season 4. If you don't like it by the end of season 4, you probably just won't ever like it.

To me, Seasons 4-7 are perfection. Every episode is great.

Season 1 was decent, but they were just getting their feet wet.

Seasons 2-3 were really good but not on the same level as 4-7.

Seasons 8-9 were a little different since Larry David wasn't writing anymore but some of my favorite episodes were in those last two seasons. Not as consistent as 4-7 but when they were on, they were REALLY on.

I absolutely love Curb Your Enthusiasm but just never could get into Seinfeld.

I vote for Friends because it's just a legitimately funny show that follows a story line and has moments with a lot of heart.

Friends had its moments, but I'm not sure you can call it underrated given the ratings and awards it received in its time.

I mean in terms of quality, again, see a lot of the posts in this thread. Not just ratings/awards, which don't mean much imo.

That's certainly fair, and like I said it is probably better. But Friends had a charm that Seinfeld doesn't have mainly driven by its relatable characters.

Seinfeld by far.

The only times I would watch Friends for more than a few seconds were when Jennifer Aniston or Courtney Cox were on the screen, and it sure as hell wasn't because they were talented or funny.

This. I can't even believe that there are people that openly, without embarrassment, claim that Friends is better.

Try watching without a laugh track.

You can say this about literally every sitcom with a studio audience/laugh track.

That includes Seinfeld.
