I like Mike Flanagan a lot but the exorcist franchise has only been successful when William Friedkin -or- William Peter is involved, and they are both dead.

I like these actors, but if there was a horror movie that NEVER needed a reboot or a sequel, it was The Exorcist.

To me, all other possession movies (and most other horror movies really) are dumb because none can compare to the original Exorcist. What makes the 1973 Exorcist so great is that here is more depth to the storyline than just a jump scare horror movie.
