I remember when Rolling Stone actually mattered and wasn't just a terrible blog.

When was that? Jan Werner was always a Marxist a-hole.

That’s the problem the article points out that I’m sure there’s posters didn’t bother to read. Essentially saying that the show had major problems and was receiving at best mixed reviews. Problem being is that anytime a black person is cast or LGBT character is mentioned in the show the people that the article mentions is a fringe one loses their minds. So instead of delving into why these shows fail usually from bad writing or boring characters it’s usually just replaced by muh woke.
I'm one the least "muh woke" posters on this board and prefer to read through articles, but even I couldn't get through half of that diatribe.

I think Scoob summed it up pretty well, it's basically using an existing and established IP (as faulty as it has been), and just use it as a vessel for an agenda. I hate that as much as everything being racist and misogynist here.

I'm at the point where you all suck, I just want good content.

Translation - “Our movies / shows can’t be losing this much money because they suck and push agendas. It has to be racism!”

If it was a truly good show, no amount of trolls or YouTube streamers could cause it to become cancelled. That's absurd. The fact that they expect people to believe this just proves how clueless they are.

Ain't that the truth

we are starved for new shows, and we're still not watching this crap.

This article like the Acolyte was not all that bad. SW online community consists of just hate bots constantly putting down new content as part of the mindless cilture wars. I hope new projects can avoid it, but Disney will probably always be a target. Disney has always been pro gay. Folks in costumes doing dance numbers. Not exactly breaking news here bots.

This whole board is pretty much a bot farm. Some of you guys are closeted gays completed obsessed with gayness 24 hours a day.

Rolling Stone is a political magazine with shitty taste in music.

They’re political activists who happen to listen to music occasionally.

I don’t think they’ve been culturally recent in two generations and most gen z types probably have no idea what it is/was.

I’m mostly surprised they weren’t sued into bankruptcy when they lied about the Duke lacrosse case. I assumed one of the kids they falsely accused would’ve put them out of their misery.

Before Star Wars can have another successful show, some vocal parts of fandom have to reckon with what they really want out of the franchise

Or, maybe Star Wars can have another successful show if they put out something that doesn't suck.

Just a thought

The fact is, George Lucas couldn't recapture the magic of the original trilogy. I'm not sure why we expect someone else to be able to.

It can't be done. Might as well encase them in amber and stop fricking with a great thing.

They can set that up on repeat and it does not make Disney Star Wars a single bit better. It can't, it won't and as long as the access media and Disney corporate believe it will, they will continue to push out shite-filled message vehicles.

Calling people names is not a substitute for quality. The fans are not wrong. If the fans were wrong you wouldn't even have an IP to attempt to ruthlessly exploit.

If Disney had merely paid 4 billion to Lucas - AND DONE NOTHING but license the legacy works out, they would have made more money than they have. Instead, they've spent billions, lost money directly and have now damaged the legacy brand.

And it is not the "istophobes" who loved Chewie, Lando and Leia who have done this damage. It has been Lucasfilm and only Lucasfilm.

This is actually false. The less Lucas was involved in the original trilogy (Empire Strikes Back), the better the movie and vice versa (Return of the Jedi). Here is a good articleabout that fact.
