Great TV. A really underrated show, as I hadn't heard much about it until trying it out on Netflix

it's an old fart show, but everything we had available in the 1970's and 80's came on 4 stations but was still better than Kardashians, Dancing with the Stars or that god-awful Masked Singer.

If you watch an episode from the later years. In one car chase scene Rockford would peel out of the parking lot in a 74 Firebird, hit the interstate in 76 Firebird and then jump out of a 78 Firebird and kick some guys arse.

I think it’s on Peacock, the Peacock site says it’s free but I don’t know for sure.

I've actually never watched it. I remember my dad hating it for some reason, and I didn't really think about it again until the mid 90's when Ben Folds mentioned it in a song.

I'm an old fart and I love The Rockford Files. Thank you for finding it and bringing it here.
It's in 4:5 ratio and grainy AF by modern standards but it is still the clearest and best picture it's been seen in probably since it first aired. I'm very excited.

As a kid I vaguely recall it came on after a show I really liked so that opening score was like the end of fun and begin of suck.
