I always assumed original Morty from the first episode has been exchanged multiple times.

So apparently this episode has awoken the toxic fan base as they’re absolutely bombing the RT audience score because of the last two episodes.

People weren’t kidding when they said a lot of the fan base is toxic as shite

I make a point to avoid that place. What are they bitching about?

It’s crazy that this is the second episode that they’ve had to deal with Morty’s unintentional offspring.

And both were from fricking machines/robots

After reading Reddit some I rewatched the episode and I am more convinced than ever that this is not the Rickest Rick - Rick C137.

I think you're right. If I'm not mistaken the portal gun hasn't been used all season. This with the added fact that the first episode showed how many clone families are out there, I don't think this is C137 we've been watching.

Rick taking that dumpy alien chick who was obviously using him has me assured this isn't C-137

The drunk drool has also been noticeably absent for this Rick.

There's just so many things in addition to no portal gun. Rick driving them in the station wagon? Flying on a government plane with soldiers? Agreeing to Morty's plan to use atomic weapons, etc instead of his own devices? Largely being just a normal every day mortal?

I realize he had a moment in last season's closing, but this is a totally different person.

Looks like there is a portal Gun next episode

Good episode. I have Watched like 7 Hellraisers so that was funny.

There was a portal gun on the start of this one. Rick and fricking Jerry walked out of a portal to arrive in the alley behind the Jerryokee bar.

Solid episode. The whole season so far hasn’t really had that one “holy shite” episode for me yet but the floor has been pretty high. Nice rebound from last season which was kind of all over the place in terms of quality

That’s a fair assessment. There have been parts I really Liked but so far no episode has jumped into my top 15

I enjoyed the clone family episode but the rest has been standard baseline R&M. They have really toned it down the past 2 seasons which is a shame. They still have good premises but they are no longer pushing the envelope as much as they used to. The tone is way different than the first 3 seasons. It feels like they don't know the direction they ultimately want to go in.

Still love the show.

Which is interesting because they have said they have the high level plot sketched out through the end of the series.

Seems to be a marathon vs sprint mentality. While there’s safety in knowing how long you have and what you can do within it, you also have to avoid burning out your audience with a ton of edgy shite up front and not having enough left in the tank to sustain and not the raised expectations in future seasons.

Im surprised people are still arguing about this show. Just sit back and enjoy the show. They've stated multiple times that they are gonna pace themselves on the overarching story and want most episodes to be stand alone one offs.

No need to rush to the end when people are gonna bitch about it no matter how it ends anyway.
