Knew nothing about this other than Benicio Del Toro was in it. Will give any film he does a chance because he always plays such unique characters.

Over all I enjoyed the movie. Can tell the director is still learning his craft but I really liked a lot he did with this film. Example: use of the very creepy music as you see Toros character looking ominously at his laptop then as camera angle changes the music jumps just as you see he is just looking faucets online.

Agree with others that some the plot points don’t really get answered at the end but other than that I really have no complaints.

And while I don’t expect anyone under the age of 45 to agree…..Clueless would still get it!!!!

Great scene and great lines. I was hoping Benico whipped his arse.

Why exactly was the movie named Reptile? What was that referring to?

Toro stole the show as expected.

Silverstone needs to lay off the food

“In the movie, characters are introduced as one thing and revealed to be something else,” Singer continues. “There’s a shedding of skin that occurs, and it felt like an appropriate metaphor for the film. Some of the most unethical people in the film can be very likable in moments.” Like anything with cold blood, these reptiles can be perfectly warm under the right circumstances. In a film full of mystery, even the title is a bit ambiguous. Singer came up with Reptile at the very beginning of the production process. “I love one-word titles,” Singer says. “Titles like Heat, Casino, just things that feel bold. When that title came to me, it didn’t remind me of any other movie.” After all, you’re asking why it’s called Reptile, aren’t you?

Yes, I saw that, but there was zero DNA evidence of him committing the crime when he was tested at the police station

Spoilers:

I don't think burying DNA evidence in that particular police station was a problem for him.

This was a nice, slow burn of a murder mystery.

I enjoyed the movie, but that has to be the worst explanation for a movie title I've ever heard.

I'm under 45, though just barely, and she is still as fine as they first day I saw her in Cryin'.

SPOILERS:

Yeah, so the chief or whatever his position was wasn't really involved in it but knew about it and didn't have many options, right? Bummer as he was pretty likeable throughout the movie and then you think he's in on it only to find out he was screwed.

I enjoyed it. Decent amount of layer and depth to it and good pacing.

I don't know. He seemed to have a really nice house not to be involved. He did loan them the car used to kill the girl.

Did he loan them the car or just allow the guy to keep it there after it got repainted? It was clear he had lots of money, though I don't remember them ever really addressing where it came from. I guess we're supposed to infer that he was involved in it. But then he warned him at the end and saved him. Maybe he was in at some point and then got cold feet or felt guilty and couldn't get it. Or started to regret it because of his diagnosis.

Good question about the car. Don't really know.

The conversation they had in the garage made me think he was involved but I could wrong.
