The Unforgotten is a great crime procedural.

Death in Paradise is sort of British and on the lighter side.

Bloodlands was good, set in Northern Ireland.

Sherlock is incredible. Good luck finding anything close to that level of good.

The Fall - as others have said it has Gillian Anderson as well as Jamie Dornan. Probably the most realistic portrayal of the pathology of a serial killer I have seen since silence of the lambs.
Ripper Street - Victorian era with the British Big Guns of acting, Matthew Mcfadyen, Jerome Flynn, Myanna Buring. Has one of the most complete (yet depressing) endings of any series.
Bodyguard
Broadchurch
Endeavor
Foyle’s War
And many others…

Prime Suspect is great. Not sure if it can be found on a streamer these days, though.

BBC from about 2005-2015 just produced some magnificent television. Probably no coincidence that Top Gear was at it pinnacle during that time as well.

No, this isn't a recommendation, because I know few will be remotely interested in a low-budget British crime-mystery series from the mid-1950s. But recently, the series "Mark Saber" (aka "Saber of London") was released on blu-ray. It's old-time, old-fashioned, half-hour vintage stuff. Nothing exceptional, but I enjoy it. The series was British, but it did air on American network tv, back in the day, sometimes rerun under the title "Detective's Diary."
The series' star, playing detective Mark Saber, is actor Donald Gray, who lost an arm in combat in WW2.

Lots of solid recommendations in this thread.
My only add would be Slow Horses on AppleTv+

Some of the best TV ive seen. Forgot about The Fall. Damn, the Brits make some good TV
Yup, there are even a few episodes of Black Mirror that fit the genre, Hated in the Nation for example.

Something worth mentioning that might be the best part of the BBC shows, is that they are all 3-6 episode seasons.
They are all about quality over quantity and its great
Luther was 5 seasons and only 20 episodes

Did this shut down in the middle or something. I liked it but stopped watching for some reason.
