They seem like they would be decent people but I guess you just never know.

My wife watches that shite. I started telling her that the guy doesn't actually know or do anything.

She told me I should make my own show of me changing the roof on our house with my shirt off and see if I could get famous.

A couple people I know have been involved in various real estate reality shows.

A friend of the family was asked to be on Buying the Bayou by a friend of theirs that was a realtor. The guy is actually a river pilot, so he doesn’t need the little money they throw at you. They had to basically move out of their house, putting everything into a pod. Fix blemishs and paint the house. They looked at 3 properties, usual routine, and ended up “buying” their own house. They said it was an absolute miserable week of filming in SE LA summer heat.

Another friend’s parents were on the show. Looked at 3 properties, including their own. Whole time they were in their house of 20+ years the wife was dogging out the decor and layout. But they too ended up “buying” their own house.

And last, a house in my neighborhood was on the show. The family supposedly bought the house. The show had them having a big party in the backyard/pool. Kids doing cannonballs off the boathouse roof. At Halloween we were on that street and I ran into the neighbor to that house. I asked, “so how are the new neighbors?” He replied, “they didn’t buy that house. It’s all a big fake production.” Sure enough there was still a for sale sign in the yard.

Life in the ER is totally fake.

I didn't see a nurse flash her thong or show a titty an entire episode. Complete hogwash of a show.

I don't know if you look at too much r/GW and are joking, or being serious because you've been there. Over twenty years in emergency medicine. Nurses are some skanks and will do some crazy shite. I once stood at a nurses station and listened to one of them tell a story about giving a handy to her dog before coming to work.

What I love are the shows where the wife works part time scraping gum off of school desks and the husband is a middle school coach and the budget is $2m.

Eli Yoder (former Amish that left and now tells people about that life) said he knew some of the people in that show. Said they were like him... Amish that left the order.

Yeah, he said everyone involved were hired actors who were former Amish. Nothing was real about it, but I always figured that was obvious.

A guy I worked with was on the Buy a Lake House show (or whatever it's called). He and his wife had already closed on a house when he was contacted by a producer for the show. The show took him and his wife around to 2 or 3 other houses to "look" before he magically chose the house he had already closed on.

Also, anyone that thinks that Property Hunters show isnt 100% bullshite is crazy.

She is a teacher and he sells iguanas. Their budget? 750k.

Craig and Stasia are looking for a two-story A-frame that's near Craig's job in the downtown but also satisfies Stasia's desire to be near the beach, which is nowhere near Craig's job. With three children and nine on the way, and a max budget of $7, lets see what Lori Jo can do on this week's episode of "You don't deserve a beach house."

I have to laugh at the ones where the tv ad for the female designer/renovator/contractor shows her in tennis shoes, a white bump cap, no eye protection or hand protection, standing on a 3’ high pile of demo rubble and made up to the nines, wields a 10 pound sledge hammer she can hardly pick up and swing, is barely able to punch a small hole in a piece of drywall.
